Our teams bring together diverse perspectives, collaborate across borders, and embrace a culture of continuous learning and shared success.\nThis is an opportunity to work alongside engineers, architects, and platform specialists while contributing to technologies that impact millions of customers worldwide.\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, and endurance tests for enterprise applications and platforms.\nBuild and maintain scalable performance test frameworks using Gatling and Java.\nAnalyze application behavior, identify bottlenecks, and provide recommendations to improve performance and reliability.\nCollaborate closely with development, QA, infrastructure, and platform engineering teams throughout the software delivery lifecycle.\nSupport performance engineering activities across large-scale distributed systems and cloud-based environments.\nDefine and monitor performance benchmarks, KPIs, and service-level objectives.\nContribute to performance testing best practices, standards, and automation strategies across the organization.\nProduce performance reports and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nWhat We're Looking For\nRequired Skills & Experience\nProven experience as a Performance Test Engineer, Performance Engineer, or similar role.\nStrong hands-on experience with Gatling for performance and load testing.\nStrong proficiency in Java and/or JavaScript for scripting and test automation.\nExperience designing and executing load, stress, scalability, and endurance tests.\nExperience testing distributed systems and enterprise applications.\nStrong understanding of performance frameworks, workload modeling, and non-functional requirements (NFRs).\nAbility to analyze performance metrics, logs, and traces to identify bottlenecks and recommend optimizations.\nKnowledge of network protocols and their impact on performance, including HTTP, WebSockets, FTP, messaging protocols, and Kafka.\nExperience working with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, or similar platforms.\nExperience integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.\nNice to Have\nExperience with additional performance testing tools such as JMeter and k6.\nExposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized environments.\nExperience working with cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures.\nKnowledge of messaging systems and event-driven architectures.\nFamiliarity with payment and banking message formats such as pain, camt, and pacs.\nStrong understanding of JVM tuning, latency profiling, and application performance optimization.\nExperience testing high-volume, mission-critical systems in the banking, financial services, or payments domain.\nExperience defining and influencing performance standards, SLAs, and scalability strategies across engineering teams.\nWhat We Offer\nOpportunities to collaborate with international teams across the ING network.\nA culture that encourages continuous learning and professional growth.\nExposure to modern performance engineering practices and technologies.\nA diverse and inclusive workplace where your ideas are valued.\nThe chance to influence performance engineering practices that impact thousands of users.\nWorried about the wage gap?
