As part of this team, the Audit Manager plays an important role in providing independent assurance over market risk and treasury activities across ING's global organisation.\nRole and responsibilities\nIn this role, you will contribute to and lead complex audits covering both trading book and banking book risk management, including market risk, counterparty credit risk, valuation, Treasury, liquidity and funding risk, capital management, ICAAP and ILAAP. You will assess whether risk management practices, governance, controls and regulatory compliance are effective, sustainable and aligned with ING's risk profile.\nWe are looking for someone with a strong background in market risk management, ideally gained within a major bank, financial institution, consultancy firm or audit environment. You bring a proven track record in analysing complex risk topics, challenging stakeholders and translating technical observations into clear audit messages.\nAs an Audit Manager you are an experienced professional and subject matter expert who contributes to the delivery of high-quality audits and audit strategy. You may be involved in several complex audits simultaneously and are expected to lead on content, provide specialist input and help formulate key messages for auditees and senior management.\nYour responsibilities include:\nPerforming and leading audits across Market Risk Management, Treasury and related financial risk topics.\nAssessing end-to-end risk management processes, governance, controls, models, methodologies and management information.\nReviewing the design and operating effectiveness of controls over trading and banking book risk management.\nIdentifying key risks, defining audit scope, developing audit testing and formulating clear, evidence-based findings.\nChallenging management in a constructive and professional manner.\nCommunicating audit outcomes clearly to stakeholders.\nSharing specialist knowledge with audit colleagues and supporting the development of team members.\nContributing to audit planning, continuous risk monitoring and the development of CAS expertise in market risk management.\nThe team\nYou will be based in Amsterdam within the Market Risk & Treasury audit team, working in hybrid mode between home and the office. International audits are performed jointly by local audit teams and central specialists. The team is part of the CAS Risk & Finance Division, a professional, international audit organisation with teams across the globe.\nYou will work in an environment where open communication, continuous learning, professional challenge and innovation are encouraged.\nHow to succeed\nYou are intellectually curious, tenacious and able to get to the substance of complex topics. You are able to distinguish between symptoms and root causes, assess the materiality of control weaknesses, and explain risks in a clear and balanced way.\nYou also bring:\nStrong analytical, verbal and written communication skills in English.\nThe ability to translate complex risk management topics into clear audit conclusions.\nA questioning mindset and the tenacity to obtain sufficient and reliable evidence.\nSound judgement, professional scepticism and attention to detail.\nThe ability to work effectively in international teams.\nStrong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to overcome resistance.\nA collaborative mindset, with willingness to coach colleagues and share specialist knowledge.\nYour profile\nFurthermore, you:\nHave an academic degree, preferably supplemented by a relevant professional qualification (e.g. FRM, CFA, PRM, CIA or equivalent).\nHave preferably more than 5 years of relevant experience in market risk management and/or internal audit within a major bank, financial institution or consultancy firm.\nHave solid knowledge of market risk processes, risk measurement, trading products and the regulatory environment for market risk and financial risk management.\nHave experience with one or more of the following areas: trading risk, counterparty credit risk, valuation, ICAAP, ILAAP, funding and liquidity risk, capital management, IRRBB, CSRBB or Asset & Liability Management.\nHave a good understanding of internal audit processes, including risk assessment, scoping, control evaluation, testing and reporting.\nHave proven communication, influencing and advisory skills, with the ability to obtain buy-in from senior stakeholders.\nAre organisationally sensitive and effective in managing challenge, disagreement and conflict.\nAre willing to travel where required for international audits.\nRewards and benefits\nWe want to make sure that it’s possible for you to strike the right balance between your career and your private life.
