The role works closely with Solution Architects, Project Managers, and Security teams to implement approved designs, execute migration waves, and prepare environments for steady-state operations.\n\nThe position requires hands-on Azure deployment skills and basic Active Directory knowledge to support hybrid enterprise workloads.\n\nThis is primarily a project delivery and implementation role, with limited post-go-live stabilization support.\n\nKey Duties And Responsibilities\n\nWorking in collaboration with the Regional Service Centre and Azure Delivery teams, responsibilities include:\n\nAzure Implementation & Project Delivery\n\nImplement Azure landing zones and subscription structures as per approved architecture. \nDeploy core Azure services: Virtual Machines, VNets, Subnets, NSGs, Load Balancers, Storage Accounts. \nConfigure availability, backup, DR, and security baselines. \nExecute workload onboarding and cutover activities during migration projects. \nPerform build, test, and production go-live activities. \nPrepare implementation guides, build documents, and handover packs. \nParticipate in design walkthroughs and technical workshops with customers. \n\nMigration Execution\n\nPerform on-prem to Azure and cloud-to-cloud migrations. \nAssist with discovery and assessment phases using Azure Migrate. \nExecute replication and cutover activities using ASR and Data Box. \nSupport post-migration stabilisation and optimisation phases. \nTrack technical actions for migration waves and project milestones. \n\nIdentity & Active Directory \n\nSupport identity integration between on-prem AD and Azure AD / Entra ID. \nPerform user/group sync checks and RBAC configuration. \nUnderstand AD fundamentals: OUs, DNS, Group Policy basics. \nAssist with MFA and conditional access rollout as part of projects. \n\nAutomation & Tooling\n\nImplement builds using ARM, Bicep, or Terraform templates for to deploy VNets, AKS clusters, and SQL databases. \nSupport Azure DevOps pipelines for infrastructure deployment. \nUse PowerShell / Azure CLI for automation during migrations and builds. \n\nSecurity Implementation\n\nHardening the environment by Zero Trust principles. \nConfiguring Microsoft Entra ID (IAM) and enforcing Azure Policies. \n\nAI Integration\n\n Build infra for Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search. \n\nOperational Readiness & Handover\n\nAssist in operational readiness activities before transition to support teams. \nCreate SOPs and runbooks for steady-state environments. \nParticipate in knowledge-transfer sessions with managed services teams. \nEnsure governance, tagging, and security standards are implemented before handover. \n\nQualifications And Experience\n\nAn Azure Support Engineer should also have the following qualifications and experience-\n\n5+ years in cloud or infrastructure delivery roles. \nStrong hands-on Azure implementation experience. \nProven involvement in migration or transformation projects. \nWorking knowledge of:\nAzure Compute, Storage, Networking\nAzure AD / RBAC / Hybrid Identity basics\nWindows and Linux administration experience. \nBasic automation/scripting exposure. \nExperience working in professional services / project-based delivery environments. \n\nKnowledge, Skills, And Characteristics\n\nDelivery-oriented mindset with strong documentation skills. \nComfortable working with project plans and milestones. \nCustomer-facing experience during implementations. \nAbility to follow architecture designs and escalate risks early.
