We’re looking for a Finance Systems & Automation Analyst who can help operate, troubleshoot, and improve the systems and workflows behind our accounting and financial processes.\nPosition Summary\nThis is not a traditional accounting role, and we are not looking for a software engineer.\nWe are looking for a systems-oriented problem solver who is naturally good at understanding how things work, breaking complicated processes into logical steps, working with financial data, and figuring out what is happening when something doesn’t work as expected.\nYou will sit at the intersection of Finance, Accounting, Data, and Technology, helping operate and improve the automated workflows that support our financial infrastructure.\nA significant portion of the role will involve working in NetSuite, alongside tools such as Google Sheets, SQL, internal data sources, integrations, and third-party platforms.\nYou do not need to be an expert programmer. You do need to be comfortable looking at an unfamiliar process, dataset, formula, query, or piece of logic and methodically figuring out how it works.\nThe ideal person has strong numerical intuition, exceptional attention to detail, and the curiosity to ask not only “Is this number correct?” but also “Where did this number come from, how did it get here, and how could we make this process better?”\nWhat You Will Do\nFinance & Accounting Operations\nOperate and maintain recurring accounting and finance workflows, including cash transaction categorization, journal entry preparation and uploads, reconciliations, and weekly/monthly reporting processes.\nWork extensively within NetSuite to support accounting operations, investigate issues, manage imports, and maintain accurate financial information.\nManage the inputs and outputs of automated finance processes, including data validation, CSV preparation and uploads, exception handling, and transaction-level corrections.\nAdapt established processes to accommodate one-off transactions, new business scenarios, and evolving Finance requirements.\nSupport weekly and monthly accounting close activities and maintain the automated workflows supporting those processes.\nSystems, Data & Automation\nMonitor automated financial data flows from source systems through accounting, forecasting, and reporting outputs.\nEnsure the continued availability, completeness, and accuracy of transaction history, balances, forecasts, and other financial information used across the organization.\nBuild, maintain, and troubleshoot automated financial workflows across accounting systems, internal data sources, and third-party platforms.\nInvestigate issues across Google Sheets logic, SQL queries, CSV imports, integrations, NetSuite, and other financial systems.\nTrace data through multiple systems to identify where errors or inconsistencies originate.\nIndependently resolve routine systems and data issues while identifying the source, scope, and appropriate escalation path for more complex problems.\nProcess Improvement & Problem Solving\nBreak complex financial processes into clear, logical steps and identify opportunities to simplify or automate them.\nUnderstand existing formulas, queries, scripts, integrations, and workflows well enough to troubleshoot and improve them.\nIdentify repetitive manual processes that could be standardized, automated, or eliminated.\nSupport the implementation of new products, systems, and business processes as they interact with Accounting and Finance.\nCreate ad-hoc reporting, tools, and analyses to answer new business questions.\nPartner across Finance, Accounting, Product, Engineering, Data, and other teams to translate business requirements into practical solutions.\nDocument processes and workflows so that systems remain understandable, scalable, and maintainable as the company grows.\nWhat We Are Looking For\nStrong systems thinking - you naturally break problems into inputs, rules, dependencies, outputs, and exceptions.\nStrong numerical intuition and an ability to recognize when financial data does not make sense.\nComfort working with large datasets and identifying patterns, anomalies, and inconsistencies.\nAbility to approach ambiguous problems with limited context and determine what questions need to be answered first.\nStrong attention to detail without losing sight of the broader process or business objective.\nComfort learning unfamiliar systems, tools, formulas, and technical concepts independently.\nAbility to read and reason through existing formulas, queries, or code even if you would not consider yourself a developer.\nAbility to troubleshoot systematically rather than relying on trial and error.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to explain technical or financial processes in straightforward terms.\nTools & Technical Experience\nExperience with some combination of the following is valuable:\nNetSuite or another ERP/accounting platform\nAdvanced Google Sheets or Excel\nSQL and relational data\nLarge structured datasets\nFinancial reporting and reconciliation\nAPIs, integrations, or third-party data connectors\nAutomated workflows or low-code automation tools\nFinancial or accounting data structures\nDeep expertise in every tool is not required.
