This role requires deep React Native expertise, strong native iOS knowledge, and an engineering-first mindset focused on quality, scalability, testing, and long-term maintainability.\nPosition Summary\nAs a senior member of our Engineering team, you'll own the development of high-quality React Native applications across iOS and Android. Beyond building features, you'll improve architecture, lead React Native upgrades, resolve complex native issues, and help shape engineering standards across our mobile platform.\nYou'll work within one of inKind's product pods alongside Product Managers, Designers, QA, Backend Engineers, and fellow Mobile Engineers to deliver customer-facing features used at scale.\nThis is not a UI-focused React Native role-we're looking for an engineer who understands the full mobile stack, writes production-quality code, owns testing, and is comfortable debugging native platforms when required.\nWhat You'll Own\nReact Native Engineering\nDesign, build, and maintain high-performance React Native applications.\nDeliver scalable, maintainable TypeScript code following engineering best practices.\nImprove application architecture, performance, reliability, and developer experience.\nOwn React Native version upgrades, dependency management, and framework migrations.\nNative Mobile Development\nBuild, maintain, and debug native iOS modules using Swift and Kotlin\nIntegrate native platform APIs into React Native applications.\nDiagnose and resolve native dependency issues and bridge failures.\nPartner with Android engineers on native integrations when required.\nCode Quality & Testing\nOwn automated testing across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.\nBuild reliable CI/CD pipelines that prevent regressions before release.\nChampion code quality through reviews, mentoring, and engineering standards.\nReduce technical debt while improving long-term maintainability.\nMobile Platform Excellence\nDevelop systematic testing strategies across Android devices, screen sizes, and OS versions.\nImprove release stability through automation, monitoring, and quality assurance.\nOptimize performance, memory usage, rendering, and application responsiveness.\nInvestigate production issues using structured debugging techniques.\nPod Collaboration\nWork closely with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, and QA within a cross-functional pod.\nHelp define technical solutions during product discovery.\nContribute to architecture discussions across Engineering.\nMentor engineers and promote engineering best practices across pods.\nWhat We're Looking For\nMinimum Qualification\n6+ years building production React Native applications.\nExperience supporting large-scale, consumer-facing mobile apps with significant production usage.\nExperience working within established engineering organizations (typically 50+ employees with mature engineering processes including code reviews, CI/CD, and structured release management).\nExpert knowledge of React Native architecture and performance optimization.\nStrong TypeScript experience.\nStrong Swift experience with the ability to build and debug native modules and bridges.\nKotlin or Android native development experience.\nExperience managing React Native version upgrades, dependency updates, and native package compatibility.\nExperience using tools such as patch-package and resolving native library conflicts.\nStrong understanding of React state management including Redux, React Query, Zustand, or Context.\nExperience designing and maintaining automated test suites using Jest, React Native Testing Library, Detox, or equivalent.\nExperience working with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, REST APIs, and Postman.\nExcellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.\nExperience using AI development tools while maintaining strong engineering judgment.\nPreferred\nExperience building custom native bridges.\nExperience publishing and supporting apps through the Apple App Store and Google Play.\nExperience supporting applications with hundreds of thousands or millions of users.\nExperience with monitoring and crash reporting tools such as Firebase Crashlytics or Sentry.\nSuccess Looks Like\nLeading React Native upgrades with minimal disruption to production.\nWriting reliable, well-tested code with high automated test coverage.\nConfidently debugging native iOS and Android issues without relying on third-party support.\nBuilding mobile experiences that perform consistently across a broad range of Android devices and screen sizes.\nRaising engineering standards through architecture, testing, code reviews, and mentorship.\nDelivering high-quality features quickly while maintaining long-term maintainability.\nSalary: $160,000 - $180,000 DOE \nWho we are:\n inKind connects passionate diners with exceptional restaurants across the country. inKind partners with thousands of restaurants and has millions of users who want to discover great places, dine confidently, and earn meaningful rewards.\nThrough the inKind app, guests earn 20% back every time they dine, turning everyday meals into something more rewarding.
