Inland and Devon are both headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois.\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\nThe Facility Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all Repair & Maintenance (R&M) activities across Devon Self Storage’s facilities, primarily managed through the Service Channel platform. This role ensures timely resolution of work orders, effective vendor management, and adherence to budgetary controls, while maintaining high standards for property condition, safety, and compliance. The position requires a strategic leader with strong technical ability—both in facilities management expertise and proficiency with platforms like Service Channel—as well as vendor negotiation skills and the ability to streamline processes across a multi-site portfolio. Additionally, the Facility Maintenance Manager will serve as a lead coordinator between the company’s field operations and construction teams, ensuring alignment on maintenance priorities, project execution, and compliance standards.\n\nCORE RESPONSIBILITIES:\nOversight of all work orders and R&M activities via Service Channel. \nLeadership and development of the Facility Management team. \nVendor recruitment, selection, and management. \nAchieve budget discipline and cost efficiency by controlling R&M expenses, aligning will financial targets, and negotiating strong vendor value. \nEnsure safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement. \nCollaborate cross-functionally with Operations, HR, Construction, and Asset Management.\n\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:\nDirect supervision of Facility Project Managers\nIndirect oversight of vendor partners and contractors.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred; or equivalent work experience.\nExperience:\nMinimum 7 years of experience in facilities management across multi-site operations.\nMinimum 3 years in a leadership role with direct people management responsibilities.\nExperience with Service Channel or similar work order management software required.\nSelf-storage, retail, or property management industry experience strongly preferred.\n\nSkills:\nStrong knowledge of building systems, maintenance protocols, and vendor management.\nExceptional organizational and analytical skills, with ability to manage competing priorities.\nProven ability to manage budgets and negotiate contracts. \nExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of CMMS systems (Service Channel) required.\n\nCore Competencies:\nStrategic Leadership & Team Development\nVendor Management & Negotiation\nProcess Improvement & Operational Efficiency\nCross-Departmental Collaboration\nCustomer Focus & Service Excellence\nWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nWorking Conditions:\nTravel to facilities up to 50% is required. \nAbility to regularly perform indoors and outdoors with exposure to adverse environmental conditions, weather, noise extremes and chemical, debris and traffic hazards.\nPhysical Requirements:\nThis position requires the ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less, with or without corrective lenses, to read documents and/or view computer screen.\nThis position requires the ability to hear, without hearing aids, and talk and to communicate in person and via phone daily.\nThis position requires the ability to reach with hands and arms, stoop or kneel, use hands/fingers to enter, retrieve and/or manipulate data using a computer keyboard.\nAbility to lift to 30lbs.\n\nWHY YOU’LL LIKE WORKING HERE:\nReady to take your career to the next level?
