We are seeking experienced support workers who are passionate about making a real difference in someone’s life to join our close-knit team supporting a young adult in a 2:1 support setting.\nOur client is a friendly 20-year-old young man with a great sense of humour who enjoys the outdoors, but also values time at home. At times the role may involve behaviours of concern, so applicants must be confident working within behaviour support plans and are able to remain patient, regulated, and supportive during challenging moments. You will be trained in behaviour support strategies and expected to work within a trauma-informed and person-centred framework.\nSupport is provided in the client’s own home and in the community, with a strong focus on teamwork, communication, and maintaining a safe and predictable environment. Supporting more than 250 clients across metropolitan and regional Victoria and only continuing to grow, we want the people who join us to also believe disability support should enable a life of independence and dignity.\nTo do a great job, you’ll need:\nExperience supporting people with a physical disability.\nExperience supporting manual handling (hoist and sling)\nExperience in personal care (showering and dressing) as required. \nAssistance with Domestic duties\nEnthusiasm and passion for supporting people with disabilities to live great lives.\nHave great patience and be willing to put in the time and energy to build rapport with our client\nWilling to work with a care team approach and incorporate the guidance of professionals. This would include supporting our clients to undertake things like their physio programs, community access for example.\nGood judgement and common sense, listening skills, a willingness to learn and a commitment to our values.\nWilling to work varied shifts with varied hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends together with some short shifts, and sleepovers.
