Interns split their time between a high-impact cross-functional team project and department-specific responsibilities assigned by their direct manager.\nOur Information Security Internship opportunitiesgive students hands-on experience helping protect Inmar’s technology, data, systems, and people from evolving security risks. Depending on business needs, opportunities may be available across areas such as Security Operations, Infrastructure & Cloud Security, Identity & Access Management, Vulnerability Management, Threat Detection, Security Engineering, Governance, Risk & Compliance, and other cybersecurity functions.\nAs an Information Security intern, you may help identify and evaluate security risks, investigate potential threats, strengthen cloud or infrastructure security, automate security processes, support identity and access controls, or help teams build security considerations into the way technology is designed and operated.\nYou’ll work alongside experienced security professionals and collaborate with partners across Engineering, Infrastructure, Technology, Product, and other business teams. Specific assignments will vary, giving you opportunities to apply your current knowledge while gaining exposure to different cybersecurity disciplines, tools, and practices.\nPlease note: These internship opportunities are expected to be based onsite at our Winston-Salem, NC location and will require in-person attendance during the summer. Specific internship assignments, responsibilities, team placement, and technology stack will be based on business needs and determined as opportunities are finalized.\nWhat You May Do\nDepending on your internship assignment, you may:\nSupport initiatives across security operations, vulnerability management, identity and access management, infrastructure security, cloud security, threat detection, or incident response.\n\nHelp monitor and analyze security information to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, unusual activity, or areas of risk.\n\nAssist with security investigations, analysis, documentation, and follow-up activities.\n\nContribute to infrastructure and cloud securityinitiatives that strengthen and standardize secure technology environments.\n\nHelp automate security processes, controls, testing, or configurations to improve consistency and efficiency.\n\nSupport threat modeling and detection initiativesby working with technical teams to understand systems, identify potential abuse cases, and determine information needed to detect security events.\n\nResearch emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, vulnerabilities, and industry practices and communicate relevant findings to the team.\n\nContribute to governance, risk, compliance, data protection, policy, or security awareness initiatives.\n\nHelp document security processes, configurations, requirements, findings, and best practices.\n\nCollaborate with Security, Engineering, Infrastructure, DevOps, Product, and other teams to help incorporate security into technology and Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with curiosity about how technology works, how it can be compromised, and how it can be better protected.\n\nFoundational understanding of one or more areas such as networking, operating systems, cloud computing, cybersecurity concepts, or software development.\n\nStrong attention to detail and a methodical approach to investigating and solving problems.\n\nClear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document security platforms or tools such as Splunk, ServiceNow, vulnerability scanners, or similar technologies.\n\nExperience working with Linux or other operating systems.\n\nExperience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.\n\nExposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.\n\nFamiliarity with Git/GitHub,
