We believe in offering an engaging, inclusive and supportive work environment where each team member can thrive.\nYour contribution!\nReporting to the Director, Taxation, the Senior Manager, Tax Compliance is responsible for leading and coordinating Innergex’s tax compliance activities in a high-volume, fast-growing international environment.\nThey are responsible for planning and coordinating tax compliance activities, ensuring that deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards, while driving continuous process improvement. Although the role has no direct people-management responsibilities, they provide functional leadership to Tax Advisors and Senior Tax Advisors involved in tax compliance activities.\nYour day-to-day!\nLead the annual tax compliance calendar, establish priorities, and ensure that deadlines are met.\nOversee and review the preparation of income tax returns and information returns, including T2, T5013, T106, and T1134 filings.\nCoordinate, review, and, when required, prepare key tax calculations, including Foreign Accrual Property Income (FAPI), surplus account calculations, safe income calculations, and computations related to the Excess Interest and Financing Expenses Limitation (EIFEL) rules.\nOversee activities related to tax incentives and tax credits, from identifying eligible expenditures through to supporting tax audits.\nAnticipate and incorporate new compliance requirements arising from Innergex’s growth and evolving tax legislation.\nProvide functional leadership to Advisors and Senior Advisors involved in tax compliance activities and support their development of autonomy and sound tax judgment.\nPlan and allocate work based on priorities, team members’ expertise, and deadlines.\nCoordinate engagements assigned to external consultants and review their work, focusing their involvement on complex, high-value matters.\nParticipate in interactions with tax authorities and coordinate responses to information requests and tax audits.\nDevelop and maintain the required level of in-house expertise, particularly in international taxation.\nDevelop, prepare, and deliver internal tax training based on team needs, legislative changes, and tax matters relevant to Innergex.\nAnalyze tax rules applicable to new jurisdictions of interest to Innergex and assess the key compliance obligations arising from them.\nDevelop tools and presentations to communicate tax matters effectively to internal teams and management.\nProvide the tax guidance required for the accounting treatment of reorganizations, acquisitions, and other tax planning transactions.\nPropose and implement improvements to the processes and tools used by the Tax team.\nYour skills, our requirements!\nMinimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in corporate taxation or with a large public accounting firm.\n\nCPA designation required.\n\nMaster’s degree in Taxation required.\n\nKnowledge of international taxation.\n\nKnowledge of tax planning and tax structure optimization is considered an asset.\n\nStrong aptitude for continuous learning, combined with a practical and pragmatic mindset.\n\nExcellent analytical skills and strong organizational abilities.\n\nAbility to adapt in a fast-paced, international growth environment.\n\nNatural and collaborative leadership style.\n\nAbility to make sound decisions under pressure.\n\nStrong sense of ethics and professional integrity.\n\nInterest in innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\n\nSound judgment and strong critical-thinking skills.\n\nMicrosoft Office.\n\nAdvanced Excel skills and proficiency with a wide range of software applications.\n\nBilingualism (French and English, both spoken and written) is required to ensure ongoing collaboration with various stakeholders outside Québec on a regular basis.\n\nAdditional considerations!\nThe position is based at the Company’s headquarters in Longueuil, conveniently located steps from the Longueuil-Université-de-Sherbrooke metro station.\nThis position is a P4 level.\nOur benefits!\nCompetitive salary and annual bonus;\nThree weeks vacation to start and paid vacations during the holiday season; \n100% Innergex-funded medical insurance from day one of employment, including primary care services through dialogue (or telemedicine) for permanent positions;\nGroup retirement plans with employer participation;\n100% Employer-funded Wellness Account;\nElectric vehicle (E-VIP) incentive program;\nHybrid work model;\nCareer development opportunities;\nOffices accessible by public transportation.\nInnergex is an equal opportunity employer that values each person’s unique background, diversity, experiences, perspectives and talents.
