And as an infrastructure company, helping the developers that use us to succeed is mission critical.\nAs a Developer Success Engineer, you’ll be the bridge between our product and the people who use it.\nYou’ll work directly with developers: helping plan their architecture, solving problems, debugging issues, offering guidance, and ensuring they get the most out of Inngest. Just as importantly, you’ll feed those learnings back into the product - helping us refine docs, shape features, and eliminate friction wherever possible.\nThis is an engineering role at its core, but much of your day will involve supporting developers and troubleshooting issues. We want you to have the autonomy to make this role your own while ensuring our users get the support they need.\nAs with any support, there will be miscellaneous questions and concerns like billing, compliance, to a 5,000-word message generated by a user’s AI agent. Being able to investigate properly and help users with any concern is important here. As an engineer yourself, provide the kind of support you'd want to receive from a vendor.\nWhat you'll do\nDeliver expert-level support to developers, from simple implementation troubleshooting to in-depth architectural guidance. Be an active presence to our enterprise users.\n\nBe a prominent voice on behalf of our users on our internal product planning discussions.\n\nTrack down and document bugs, working closely with the engineers on solutions.\n\nIdentify and document feature requests, proactively uncover opportunities for product improvements, and help get them prioritized\n\nContribute to both internal and public-facing documentation, use cases and examples.\n\nSupport sales-led POCs.\n\nDevelop and improve internal tools and integrations that optimize our support workflows and enhance the overall developer experience and make delivering support better and easier.\n\nIdeal candidate\nExpertise in TypeScript development, with openness to new languages (eg. Python, Golang).\n\nKnowledge and experience with queueing systems\n\nOutstanding written and verbal communication skills\n\nAbility to quickly understand and debug complex technical issues\n\nA track record of helping other developers succeed\n\nDeep empathy for developers and commitment to excellent developer experience\n\nBonus points\nExperience working with Inngest\n\nExperience measuring customer success\n\nExperience with infrastructure\n\nWhat your first 90 days will look like\nFirst week: You’ll learn how we work as a team and our approach to support and sales. You’ll dive into dogfooding our product and begin to understand how it works architecturally, and how our users work with it. You’ll begin to shadow our existing support rotation to learn about how things work.\n\nBy day 30: You’ll dive in daily to help developers and our support inbox. You’ll have joined a few sales calls to learn about solutions engineering and supporting PoCs.\n\nBy day 90: You’ll have iterated on our workflow for delivering customer support and build or suggest a couple of tools to help make this workflow better. You’ll have set up a way to organize feedback and issues from users to our product team. You’ll have provided feedback on our product that will have led to improvements.\n\nWhat we build with\nSupport: Plain, Slack channels for enterprise customers, Discord\n\nBackend: Go, Postgres, Redis, PubSub, FoundationDB and… Inngest (of course)\n\nFrontend: TypeScript, React & Next.js.
