You will lead a team of hourly employees to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production processes. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement, uphold safety standards, and ensure adherence to production schedules, while maintaining a focus on cost control, quality assurance, and environmental compliance.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead Production Operations: Drive and coordinate daily manufacturing activities to meet production goals, including throughput, capacity, and scheduling targets.\nSupervise & Optimize Workforce: Assign tasks, monitor work performance, and adjust resources as needed to ensure production deadlines are met on time and according to specifications.\nManage Operational Adjustments: Evaluate and adjust production plans as needed to address changes in shipment schedules, inventory levels, and production requirements.\nEnsure Safety and Quality Compliance: Foster a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to all environmental, health, and safety regulations. Ensure products meet quality standards by partnering with the Quality Department.\nImprove Efficiency & Reduce Waste: Lead initiatives to reduce waste, optimize production efficiency, and enhance product quality through continuous improvement practices.\nOversee Staffing & Scheduling: Manage staffing levels, including shift scheduling, overtime distribution, and ensuring adequate personnel to meet production requirements.\nCollaborate with Maintenance: Work closely with the Maintenance Department to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance, minimizing downtime and maintaining equipment reliability.\nBudget & Cost Control: Monitor departmental spending, ensuring compliance with budget constraints. Investigate and reconcile any variances in monthly production costs.\nTeam Development: Lead by example in training, mentoring, and developing production staff. Provide clear performance expectations, address any issues, and foster a positive and high-performing team culture.\nRequired Education and Experience:\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an associate’s degree in a technical or management field with supervisory experience.\n Experience: Previous manufacturing experience preferred. Knowledge of phosphate manufacturing chemistry and equipment is a plus.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\n3 + years of supervisory experience.\n5+ years manufacturing experience.\nStrong leadership and team-building skills.\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.\nProven ability to plan, prioritize, and meet production goals.\nDeep knowledge of safety practices, regulatory standards, and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).\nUnderstanding of budgeting, cost control, and production efficiency.\nAbility to identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities.\nAbility to foster a positive team environment while holding employees accountable for performance.\nSupervisory Responsibility:\nDirect Reports: 10-30 hourly employees.\n Indirect Reports: None.\nPhysical Demands:\nFrequent plant field visits requiring the use of protective gear, such as safety shoes, hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs, mask, goggles, insulated gloves, safety
