You’ll be expected to use AI coding agents and the AI Development Life Cycle (AIDLC) as an integral part of your engineering practice-and help other engineers adopt these practices effectively.\nA Day in the Life\nOwn and drive large, cross-team technical initiatives from problem definition and architecture through implementation, deployment, and production.\nDesign and build highly scalable, resilient, secure, and maintainable full-stack and distributed systems.\nSolve complex technical problems that cross service, product, platform, and organizational boundaries.\nRemain deeply hands-on-designing, coding, debugging, reviewing, and improving production systems.\nUse AI coding agents and AI-assisted development extensively across design, implementation, testing, debugging, refactoring, code review, and documentation.\nChampion AIDLC / AI-native engineering practices and help teams evolve their development workflows to take advantage of AI.\nThink beyond individual services and features, understanding system-wide dependencies, trade-offs, failure modes, and customer impact.\nIdentify opportunities to simplify architecture, eliminate systemic technical debt, and improve engineering velocity, reliability, and developer experience.\nLead architecture and design discussions across teams and influence technical direction through strong engineering judgment and technical credibility.\nPartner with Product, AI, Design, and Engineering leaders to translate ambiguous business and customer problems into technical strategies and executable solutions.\nEstablish reusable architectural patterns, engineering practices, and technical standards across teams.\nMentor Senior Engineers and SDE3s and help develop the next generation of technical leaders.\nProactively identify important problems before they become incidents, customer issues, or organizational bottlenecks.\nWhat You Need\n8+ years of software engineering experience, with a demonstrated track record of building and operating complex production systems.\nDeep hands-on expertise in software engineering, system design, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures.\nStrong coding skills with depth in one or more areas and the ability to work effectively across the full stack.\nStrong experience with Java, Python, Node.js, TypeScript, React, or equivalent modern technologies.\nStrong understanding of databases, APIs, messaging, caching, observability, security, reliability, scalability, and cloud infrastructure.\nDemonstrated experience driving architecture and technical initiatives across multiple teams.\nProven ability to take ambiguous, high-impact problems and drive them from problem definition through production.\nStrong engineering judgment and ability to balance velocity, scalability, reliability, security, cost, and long-term maintainability.\nStrong hands-on proficiency with AI coding tools is required. Experience with tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent AI coding agents.\nPractical experience with AIDLC / AI-native development, including AI-assisted design, coding, testing, debugging, code review, evaluation, and iterative development.\nStrong system-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reason across multiple layers of a technology stack.\nAbility to influence technical decisions without relying on organizational authority.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, AI, and business stakeholders.\nDemonstrated ownership, curiosity, bias for action, and continuous learning.\nGood to Have\nHands-on experience building Agentic AI applications or production AI workflows.\nExperience with LLMs, RAG, tool calling, MCP, AI agents, agent orchestration, or multi-agent systems.\nExperience designing AI-native or agentic architectures.\nExperience with AI evaluation, guardrails, observability, and runtime monitoring.\nExperience helping organizations adopt AIDLC and AI-augmented engineering practices.\nExperience with AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Kafka, Temporal, or similar cloud-native technologies.\nExperience defining engineering standards, architectural patterns, or platform-wide technical strategies.\nAbout Innovaccer\nInnovaccer builds software that helps hospitals, clinics, and health insurance companies make sense of all the scattered data they deal with every day - patient records, appointments, insurance claims, lab results - and turns it into something useful and actionable.\nThink of a typical hospital: patient information often lives in a dozen different systems that don't talk to each other well.
