The Chemist I is directly supervised by the Laboratory Supervisor or Manager. The Chemist is to work under minimal supervision and function independently upon completion of training. The Chemist I will train and monitor new laboratory technicians and Chemists.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nMaintain records of all quality activities as documented in procedures and test methods\nMaintain a laboratory notebook with detailed descriptions of all work performed and observations and deviations.\nHandle samples and performs chemical analyses according to procedures and test methods\nWrite procedures and test methods\nReview and signs off on others work when trained to do so\nMaintain and calibrates assigned equipment\nReport deficiencies or malfunctions to the supervisor\nIdentify and records nonconformities\nIdentify and records improvements\nCorrect nonconformities\nImprove laboratory and/or quality activities on a continuous basis.\nCalibration/documentation of all instruments involved in testing\nOrganization of samples for Heavy Metals testing by ICP-MS\nOrganization of samples for potency analysis testing\nPreparation and analysis of samples for testing by HPLC, UPLC, GC, ICP-MS, Titration, UV-Vis Spectrophotometry\nPerform mathematical calculations accurately and independently during data processing\nProcess and report results.
