Court Square Animal Hospital in Long Island City, NY, is seeking a friendly, compassionate, and dependable Veterinary Assistant / Client Service Representative (CSR) to join our growing veterinary team!\nIn this exciting hybrid role, you'll have the opportunity to combine hands-on veterinary patient care with exceptional client service, supporting both our medical team and the pet owners who trust us with their animals' health.\nAs part of the West Hills Animal Hospital Family of Practices, you'll work alongside experienced veterinary professionals in a collaborative, fast-paced environment that values teamwork, professional development, and high-quality patient care.\nIf you're looking to expand your veterinary skills, enjoy working with animals and people, and thrive in a role where no two days are the same, we'd love to hear from you!\nYour day-to-day responsibilities will include:\nVeterinary Assistant & Patient Care\nAssist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient handling, restraint, examinations, and treatments.\nProvide compassionate care and monitoring for hospitalized and in-house patients under the direction of the veterinary medical team.\nAssist with preparing exam rooms, treatment areas, and medical supplies for appointments and procedures.\nFill and prepare prescriptions as directed by veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians.\nSupport the medical team with daily clinical tasks, patient care responsibilities, and hospital projects.\nObserve patient behavior and communicate any concerns or changes to the veterinary team.\nFollow established hospital protocols for patient safety, sanitation, and infection prevention.\nClient Relations & Communication\nGreet clients and their pets with a warm, compassionate, and professional approach.\nAnswer incoming phone calls, respond to emails, and provide exceptional veterinary customer service.\nServe as a liaison between clients, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and other hospital staff.\nRespond to client questions, relay accurate messages, and communicate important information to the appropriate team members.\nHelp create a welcoming and supportive experience for clients throughout their visits.\nAppointment Scheduling & Front Desk Support\nSchedule and coordinate veterinary appointments, wellness visits, follow-ups, and procedures.\nManage patient check-in and check-out while ensuring accurate client and patient information.\nMaintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date veterinary medical records in the hospital's practice management system.\nAssist with processing payments and completing administrative tasks as needed.\nSupport efficient patient flow and communication between the reception and clinical teams.\nVeterinary Hospital & Team Support\nMaintain a clean, organized, and welcoming veterinary reception area, exam rooms, and treatment spaces.\nAssist with laundry, cleaning, sanitizing equipment, restocking supplies, and general hospital upkeep.\nCollaborate closely with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service representatives to ensure efficient daily operations.\nTransition between front desk responsibilities and clinical support based on hospital needs.\nContribute to a positive, supportive, and team-oriented work environment.\nSkills Knowledge and Expertise\nSkills & Qualifications\nPrevious experience as a veterinary assistant, veterinary receptionist, veterinary client service representative, or animal hospital assistant strongly preferred.\nMinimum of 1 year of experience in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting strongly preferred.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills with a friendly, professional, and compassionate approach.\nAbility to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and remain organized in a fast-paced veterinary environment.\nComfortable working directly with animals and interacting with pet owners.\nBasic understanding of veterinary terminology, animal behavior, and safe patient handling preferred.\nStrong attention to detail when maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, and handling administrative responsibilities.\nAbility to work collaboratively with both the medical and client service teams.\nWillingness to learn new skills and take on a variety of clinical and administrative responsibilities.\nDependable, adaptable, and committed to providing excellent patient care and customer service.\nEducation & Physical Requirements\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\nAbility to safely lift and assist with animals or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods throughout the workday.\nComfortable working in a veterinary hospital environment with exposure to animals, cleaning products, and potential infectious diseases.\nAbility to perform both clinical and administrative responsibilities as hospital needs change.\nBenefits\nCompetitive Compensation -
