This is an opportunity to work in a mission-driven industry supporting research and innovation.\nHome Base: Frederick, MD (routes across East Coast territory)\nSchedule: Monday - Friday (includes 2-3 overnights + rotating routes); Full-time position (40 hours guaranteed)\nStarting Rate: $33.51/hour\nBenefits: Full benefits available within 30 days of hire\nKey Responsibilities\nThis position requires teams driving routes weekly.\nSafely operate Class A vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.\nPick up, verify, and deliver loads accurately and on time\nLoad and unload a variety of cargo safely and efficiently\nAccurately complete required logs and transportation paperwork\nInspect vehicle pre-trip and perform basic maintenance as needed\nDrive safely in all conditions, including heavy traffic and inclement weather\nFollow DOT regulations, schedules, and required rest periods\nNavigate routes using maps, GPS, and directions\nProvide courteous, professional service at all customer locations\nWork collaboratively in team driving assignments\nHandle and transport animals safely and humanely, including non-human primates\nAdhere to strict animal welfare standards and safe handling practices\nPerform other duties as assigned\nQualifications & Skills\nValid CDL Class A License with a clean driving record\nMinimum 3 years of CDL driving experience (5 years Preferred) (Live animal transport experience preferred)\nSuccessful completion of a motor vehicle record check\nAbility to follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively in English\nStrong attention to detail and safety awareness\nAbility to lift up to 70 lbs repeatedly\nComfortable driving for extended periods\nSelf-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented\nSolid knowledge of roadways, traffic laws, and DOT regulations\nStrong customer service and communication skills\nMust be comfortable working with animals of varying sizes\nAdditional Requirements\nMay require compliance with ongoing tuberculosis (TB) screening and testing in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines\nBenefits\nMeal & sleeper per diem\nGenerous paid time off\nCompany-paid holidays\nMedical, dental, and vision insurance\nHealth savings account (HSA)\nFlexible spending account (FSA)\n401(k) retirement plan\n*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.
