This position performs a wide range of facility maintenance activities, coordinates third-party service providers, supports regulatory compliance requirements, and serves as a key resource for facility-related issues.The role requires general knowledge of facility operations, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and general building maintenance. The individual must work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, respond to urgent maintenance needs, and support both routine and emergency facility operations.\nKey Accountabilities:\nPerform general facilities maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and minor installations across locations, including building systems, infrastructure, and general trades work (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC support).\nManage preventative maintenance programs and ensure facility equipment, building systems, and company vehicles are inspected, serviced, documented, and maintained according to established schedules, warranties, and service agreements.\nCoordinate and oversee external contractors, vendors, inspectors, and service providers for repairs, maintenance, inspections, and facility improvement projects; serve as the primary site representative and point of contact for facility-related matters.\nConduct routine facility inspections to ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of buildings, equipment, environmental controls, and infrastructure in accordance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.\nMaintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, work orders, service documentation, and asset information within facility management systems.\nSupport facility operations by assisting with office relocations, workspace installations, meeting and event setup, facility security activities, and after-hours/on-call coverage as needed.\nResearch solutions, obtain vendor quotes, develop cost estimates, and support facility-related capital and maintenance projects.\nMonitor facility repair and maintenance expenditures, track budgets, and exercise purchasing authority for approved facility-related supplies, services, and repairs in accordance with company procedures.\nPartner with site leadership, equipment owners, and cross-functional teams to address facility needs, communicate project status, and support operational objectives.\nMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while adhering to all safety standards, SOPs, and applicable regulatory requirements.\nPerform other duties as assigned in support of facility operations and business needs.\nMinimum Requirements:\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.\nExperience\nMinimum of five (5) years of experience performing general facility, building, or equipment maintenance.\nExperience supporting HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building systems.\nEquivalent combinations of education, apprenticeship training, and relevant maintenance experience may be considered.\nKnowledge & Skills\nGeneral knowledge of facility operations, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and building maintenance practices.\nAbility to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues independently.\nProficiency using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and material handling equipment.\nStrong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, email, and internet-based systems.\nAbility to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.\nValid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to be insured under company liability insurance requirements.\nPreferences\nAssociate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.\nTechnical certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, or related trades.\nExperience within research, laboratory, manufacturing, production, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated environments.\nExperience working with facilities management systems.\nExperience supporting regulated facilities subject to USDA, AAALAC, OLAW, or GLP requirements.\nAbility to adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs.\nWorking Conditions & Physical Requirements\nAbility and willingness to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as business needs require.\nAbility to work safely in a production/manufacturing environment while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, crouch, push, pull, and climb throughout an entire work shift.\nAbility to stand for extended periods, including up to eight hours or more per day.\nAbility to frequently lift, carry, push, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to safely move heavier equipment using proper lifting techniques and mechanical assistance when necessary.\nManual dexterity sufficient to operate tools, equipment, computers, and maintenance devices.\nAbility to climb ladders and work from elevated work platforms, including scissor lifts and boom lifts.\nVisual acuity sufficient to inspect equipment, read technical documents, and operate computer systems.\nThe employee may be exposed to:Indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.\nMechanical and electrical equipment.\nHVAC and plumbing systems.\nSolvents, oils, grease, cleaners, adhesives, and maintenance chemicals.\nDust, drywall particles, fiberglass, metal filings, wood filings, and airborne particulates.\nSoldering materials and chemical fumes.\nVariable temperatures, weather conditions, and humidity levels.\nModerate noise levels with occasional elevated noise exposure.\nBiological materials and animal-related environments.\n\n*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.
