We're looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Maintenance Technician to join our team and learn the skills needed to become a qualified professional technician.\nAs an Apprentice Maintenance Technician, you'll work closely with our maintenance team who make sure that our facilities, equipment and building services operate safely and efficiently. Through on-the-job training and formal education, you'll develop the skills and knowledge required to become a fully qualified Maintenance Technician.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nAssisting with planned maintenance, servicing and reactive repairs across building services and systems.\nLearning how to maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and electrical systems.\nSupporting installation and repair activities under the guidance of experienced technicians.\nFollowing health, safety and environmental procedures at all times.\nAttending college and training courses as part of your apprenticeship programme.\nSupporting other engineering and maintenance activities as required.\nWhat You'll Learn:\nThroughout your apprenticeship, you'll gain practical experience and industry-recognised qualifications while developing skills in:\nMechanical and electrical maintenance\nFault finding and problem solving\nBuilding services and facilities maintenance\nPreventative and reactive maintenance techniques\nWhat We Offer You:\nHands-on training from experienced maintenance professionals.\nOngoing mentoring and support throughout your apprenticeship.\nOpportunities for career progression upon successful completion.\nA friendly and supportive working environment.\nWhat We're Looking For:\nWe're looking for someone with a genuine interest in maintenance and engineering who is motivated to learn and develop their career.\nIdeally, you'll have:\nAn interest in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.\nPrevious exposure to an engineering, facilities or maintenance environment through work experience, education, hobbies or personal projects is highly advantageous.\nAn existing, or part qualification in an engineering/craftsman/maintenance subject is highly advantageous.\nGood practical skills and an aptitude for working with tools and equipment.\nA positive attitude and willingness to learn.\nStrong communication and teamwork skills.\nA proactive, can-do approach to work.\nThe ability to follow instructions and work safely.\nLocation/Benefits:\nThis is a full-time role based our Hillcrest site (Belton, NW Leicestershire), working Mon-Fri 8-4.\nStarting salary of £27,000\n33 days holiday (inc. 8 public holidays).\nCore benefits including life assurance and pension, plus income protection after 3 years of service.\nFlexible benefits scheme, with optional private health insurance, health cash plan, technology scheme, and retail discounts.\nWellbeing benefits including our Employee Assistance Programme and our wellbeing portal with fitness videos, recipes and mindfulness exercises, plus much more.\nDue to the nature of our work, candidates cannot have pet rodents (mice, rats or guineapigs), or rabbits.
