Staff Software Engineer in Test (m/f/n)

InPost provides delivery services through a network of over 64,000 Automated Parcel Machines (APMs) and more than 30,000 pick-up and drop-off (PUDO) points across nine European countries: Poland, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, alongside to-door courier and fulfilment services for ecommerce merchants.

Its locker solutions offer consumers a delivery option that is cheaper, more flexible and convenient, environmentally friendly and contactless. We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer in Test to raise the quality bar across our mobile app and backend domain - not by writing more tests, but by changing how the whole domain thinks about quality. This is a hands-on technical leadership role at the intersection of QA and mobile development, driving a native-first testing strategy and a culture where developers own quality rather than hand it off.

Your scope of work will cover 3 areas.

I. Test strategy & native automation

• Design and own the test strategy across mobile teams for native iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin) apps.

• Set strategy for device and OS-version fragmentation coverage and drive flakiness control at scale, running suites on BrowserStack with GitLab CI.

• Keep the backend/API/contract layer strong and connect it to the mobile client layer.

• Own quality gates inside app release and store-deployment pipelines, and drive resolution of quality issues that cross team boundaries within the domain.

II. Coaching, culture & technical leadership

• Pair on testability, shift quality ownership left into the dev workflow, and be the person teams seek out before implementation starts.

• Mentor Senior Software Engineers in Test, accelerating real, visible growth, and provide technical guidance across the domain.

• Run knowledge-sharing across QA and Dev: tech talks, workshops, reusable documentation, pair sessions; co-lead the OneTech/QA community.

• Co-shape the domain's technical quality direction with the SEM, with full autonomy within the domain, and analyze quality trends from reports/metrics to identify improvement areas.

• Define quality metrics and gates and use them to frame quality risk in business terms for EMs, SEMs, and PMs.

III. AI Governance in testing

• Define the AI adoption approach for quality engineering in the domain - which tools, which workflows.

• Design AI-assisted testing workflows and set governance and data-security standards across teams.

• Assess and manage the risk of AI usage in testing (including production-facing work), not just the productivity upside.

• Mentor engineers on responsible, effective AI use and report on AI ROI for quality engineering.

Qualifications

Must-have

• Strong experience automating mobile app tests natively (iOS or Android - ideally both), with real, working-level Swift and/or Kotlin.

• A track record designing test strategy / the test pyramid - not just executing on someone else's plan.

• Proven shift-left experience - entering the process before coding and measurably changing the outcome.

• Experience leading technical/process change and working directly with development teams.

• Experience in introducing mock-based testing - setting the standards and education

• Proven impact beyond a single team - standards set for multiple teams, or a cross-team quality initiative led.

• A hands-on, critical relationship with AI - using it and assessing its risks, not just its benefits.

• Fluent English.

Nice-to-have

• Fluency in Polish.

• Experience with BrowserStack and CI/CD (GitLab).

• Snapshot testing experience (e.g., swift-snapshot-testing, Paparazzi).

• Familiarity with Appium - useful for understanding what we're migrating away from.

• Experience applying AI in testing workflows (we're building skills to support the migration).

• Experience in the logistics or e-commerce industry.

• ISTQB Advanced Level - Test Automation Engineer certification.
