As part of our expansion, we are looking to add a Site Reliability Engineer to our Managed and Professional Services team. This role is critical in delivering our high-quality proactive and reactive services to clients and in shaping the security posture of organizations across various industries. If you have a background in managing Linux environments and supporting security tools and a passion for helping customers and solving hard problems, please apply.\nResponsibilities\nManage a production Linux environment and underlying infrastructure using modern management techniques, including automation such as Chef.\nManage Security Tools: Oversee, optimize, and extend the operation of proprietary and open-source security tools (e.g., Zeek, Suricata) in both development and production environments.\nTroubleshoot and resolve issues with Linux-based systems, including server hardware, virtualization, software, and network connectivity\nMonitor and analyze network traffic using Zeek and Suricata to identify potential security threats.\nHelp develop and implement procedures for incident response and disaster recovery.\nCollaborate with client teams to ensure the smooth operation of their systems and services.\nParticipate in on-call rotation for after-hours for client support.\nContribute to developing innovative cybersecurity solutions and strategies within Insane Forensics product and service lines.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor in cybersecurity matters.\nEnsure the quality and timeliness of service delivery, adhering to project deadlines and client expectations.\nQualifications\nMinimum 5 years of experience in managing production Linux environments. \nExtensive SRE Experience: Proven track record of using SRE concepts to creatively resolve complex issues.\nStrong knowledge of Linux system administration, including proactive management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.\nExperience in an operations-focused role focusing on Linux, networking, and security.\nExperience with Zeek in production environments, including deployment, configuration, and analysis. Including experience with:Configuring Zeek sensors and brokers\nSetting up Zeek clusters for high availability and scalability\nIntegrating Zeek with other security tools and systems \nOptimizing Zeek's performance and resource utilization\n\nExperience with Suricata in production environments, including deployment, configuration, and analysis. Including experience with:Configuring Suricata sensors and management consoles\nSetting up Suricata clusters for high availability and scalability\nIntegrating Suricata with other security tools and systems \nOptimizing Suricata performance and resource utilization\nKnowledge of Suricata rules and signatures and ability to create custom rules\nFamiliarity with Suricata's detection engine and ability to tune and optimize detection settings\n\nKnowledge of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, HTTP, and SSH. \nExperience utilizing Python and other scripting languages to diagnose and resolve issues.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills.\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.\nKnowledge of industrial systems and protocols is a plus.\nExperience in a startup or rapidly growing professional services organization is a plus.\nBenefits\nCompetitive Base Salary\nEquity offering subject to board approval\nComprehensive medical/dental/vision/life insurance plan\nVanguard 401(k) with employer match\nFlexible working hours and generous time-off policy\nInsane Cyber is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
