This consultant will work across business and technology teams to uncover how master data processes operate today, identify system and functional dependencies, and translate that knowledge into clear, structured workflows.\n\nThis is not a hands-on SAP configuration role and does not require deep expertise across every SAP module. The ideal candidate understands SAP ECC/S/4HANA well enough to facilitate conversations across functional areas, ask the right questions, identify gaps and dependencies, and make sense of complex business processes.\n\nThe resulting documentation will establish a foundation for standardized master data workflows, BPMN 2.0 process modeling, and ongoing SAP transformation initiatives.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nLead structured discovery sessions and workshops with business stakeholders, SAP functional SMEs, process owners, and technology teams.\nDocument current-state processes involving master data objects such as:\nCustomer master\nVendor master\nMaterial master\nFinished goods\nUnderstand how master data processes span SAP functional areas such as SD, MM, PP, FI/CO, and related applications.\nAsk probing questions to uncover undocumented processes, handoffs, exceptions, dependencies, ownership, and business rules.\nTranslate institutional and verbal knowledge into clear current-state workflows, process maps, and supporting documentation.\nIdentify inconsistencies and variations in how processes are performed across teams and business areas.\nPartner with internal SAP SMEs to validate functional details and resolve gaps in process understanding.\nHelp establish a centralized view of current master data processes that can support future standardization and transformation.\nCreate process documentation suitable for BPMN 2.0 modeling and eventual ingestion into SAP Signavio.\nPartner with internal BPMN/process-modeling resources when necessary to translate discovery findings into formal process models.\nSupport broader SAP ECC-to-S/4HANA transformation and process modernization efforts.\n\nRequired Skills\nStrong Business Systems Analyst, Business Process Analyst, or similar process-discovery experience.\nExperience working with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA business processes.\nDemonstrated experience leading stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, and process workshops.\nStrong current-state / as-is process discovery and documentation experience.\nAbility to work across multiple SAP functional areas without needing to be the technical SME for every module.\nExperience translating complex or undocumented business processes into structured workflows and documentation.\nStrong facilitation skills, including the ability to ask probing questions and identify root causes, exceptions, and process dependencies.\nAbility to operate independently in environments where existing documentation may be limited.\nStrong communication skills and experience partnering across business and technology organizations.\n\nPreferred Skills\nExperience with SAP master data processes, particularly customer, vendor, material, or finished-goods data.\nExperience supporting SAP ECC-to-S/4HANA transformation or readiness initiatives.\nBPMN 2.0 process modeling experience.\nExperience with process-modeling tools such as SAP Signavio, Microsoft Visio, Miro, ARIS, Lucidchart, or similar tools.\nManufacturing or complex enterprise environment experience.\nMaster Data Management (MDM) or Master Data Governance (MDG) exposure.\nExperience identifying opportunities for process standardization or harmonization.\nExperience working across multiple SAP modules or functional teams.\nVista ERP/application experience is a plus.\n\nIdeal Candidate\nThe ideal candidate is not simply an SAP functional/configuration consultant or a documentation analyst.\n\nThey are a strong facilitator who can enter an environment where much of the current-state knowledge exists with internal SMEs, lead structured conversations to understand how processes actually work, and convert those findings into clear and actionable process documentation.\n\nThey do not need to be an expert across every SAP module. Internal functional SMEs will provide deep subject-matter expertise where needed.
