Our network supports public and private clients-including DoD, DOE, and municipalities-through robust logistics and continuous investment in people, technology, and infrastructure.We offer comprehensive testing for air, water, soil, sediment, tissue, and waste, covering a wide range of analytes including PFAS, metals, VOCs/SVOCs, dioxins/furans, radiochemicals, and more.\nJob Description\nThe Laboratory Supervisor oversees daily laboratory operations involving the analysis of bulk asbestos-containing materials by polarized light microscopy (PLM), mold spore identification and additional supportive tests related to industrial hygiene and indoor air quality. This position requires focus on laboratory best practices, company SOPs, quality assurance considerations; along with accurate and timely reporting of analytical results. The supervisor, while actively involved in production, also supports analyst training, scheduling and maintains critical documentation for the laboratory. Collaboration with team members including management, staff, sales personnel and customer service representatives is essential to the position and mutually supported by individuals in these roles. A safe, efficient and scientifically sound laboratory environment must be promoted by the lab supervisor in order to meet expectations of customers, the company and regulating agencies.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nOversee daily analytical operations ensuring timely and accurate reporting of sample results.\nConduct analysis of asbestos and mold samples.\nSupervise, train, schedule and evaluate laboratory staff to maintain high technical competency, efficiency and productivity.\nCoordinate workload from initial sample receipt to final reporting.\nEnsure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards promulgated by EPA, AIHA, NVLAP, EPA and OSHA as applicable to services offered by the location.\nImplement QA/QC practices mandated by the quality assurance program including performance with documentation of calibrations, verifications, equipment maintenance and root cause/corrective action investigation when necessary.\nTroubleshoot analytical, methodological and instrumentation issues to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations while maintaining documentation\nSupport laboratory staff in each aspect of operations. This includes training, scheduling and sharing priorities with the team\nManage inventory, procurement and maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies.\nCollaborate with management to reach established goals, improve processes and promote business growth.\nShare and enforce laboratory safety protocols for a safe work environment.\nPerform other supervisory, technical and administrative duties as assigned.\nQualifications\n\nBasic Minimum Qualifications:\n\nEducation/Experience:\n\nBachelor Degree within a scientific field.\n3 years of experience within a commercial testing laboratory.\nCandidates with a background in analytical microscopy are preferred for this role.\nAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship\nProfessional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English\n\nAbility and/or Skills:\n\nProficiency in environmental testing methodologies and analytical protocols\nComprehensive understanding of applicable regulatory requirements and compliance standards\nAdvanced competency in analytical laboratory techniques and procedures\nThorough knowledge of laboratory quality assurance (QA) requirements and standards\nDemonstrated proficiency with computer systems, spreadsheet applications, and laboratory database management\nAdditional Information\nPosition will be a Full Time position, Monday- Friday with flexiblity on the 1st shift hours.\nPosition will be onsite at the New Orleans lab site.\nWe support your development!
