This is a hands-on opportunity to join a fast-growing, innovative team where your expertise in mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and product validation directly shapes G&G product design and reliability.\nG&G products operate in some of the harshest environments in industry, including high-pressure washdown, chemical exposure, outdoor weather, and vibration. As a proactive problem solver, the Mechanical Engineer thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where priorities can shift quickly and decisions are made close to the product. Practical and execution oriented, you drive mechanical design from the first prototype through production release and into the field.\nWho will I report to?VP of Engineering\nWhat roles am I accountable for?\nMechanical Design & Product Development (45%)\nDesign mechanical components and products in SOLIDWORKS, including enclosures, heatsinks, housings, mounting hardware, wiring harnesses, and accessories; maintain all CAD data.\nDesign for injection molding, polymer and metal extrusion, sheet metal, and 3D printing.\nSelect and validate engineering plastics, seals, and fastening methods for harsh and chemically aggressive environments.\nDesign thermal paths and heatsinks for high-power LED products.\nBuild early-phase prototypes and proof-of-concept designs; iterate quickly based on test results.\nCreate, execute, and document mechanical validation plans.\nSupport UL certification and IP rating compliance on new product development.\nApply GD&T and tolerance analysis to ensure designs are robust and production ready.\nManufacturing Integration & Cross Functional Collaboration (25%)\nOwn BOM and drawing accuracy for assigned products.\nWork directly with molders, extruders, and fabrication vendors on tooling, first article inspection, and design changes.\nValidate incoming parts and assemblies against design specifications.\nDesign assembly fixtures and jigs to support production at volume.\nForensic analysis of mechanical field returns and internal defects; drive corrective actions.\nPartner with manufacturing on first-run production builds.\nEstablish mechanical test methods and production acceptance criteria.\nSupport Sales and Marketing with product drawings, renderings, and technical guidance as needed.\nProduct Ownership & Project Management (20%)\nOwn assigned products from concept through production and into the field.\nKeep a clear view of where your projects stand, including work happening with vendors, procurement, and other teams.\nLook ahead for risks and delays and work with the team to find a path forward, whether that’s a second source, a revised plan, or escalating early.\nMake practical calls to keep projects moving, such as expediting parts or building extra prototypes when it saves time.\nKeep stakeholders informed as plans, dates, or results change.\nFollow through on requests from other teams and keep them updated on progress.\nPartner with the Engineering Program Manager on planning and tracking.\nTeam G&G (10%)\nLive and reinforce G&G core values.\nContribute as a key member of the G&G Engineering team, fostering a culture of problem solving and continuous improvement.\nWhat does success look like?\nSuccess in this role means delivering durable, reliable mechanical designs that perform in the field and make it to production on schedule.
