You’ll work alongside our senior editors, SEO team, writers, and subject-matter experts to take drafts from rough to publish-ready across our blogs, guides, and marketing content.\nThis is a great fit if you have a sharp eye for detail, love making sentences better, and want to grow into a more strategic editorial role. You’ll learn how content gets found and cited by search engines and AI tools, and you’ll build real skills in editorial process, style, and feedback.\nPlease note: This role is open to candidates based remotely in Canada.\nWhat You’ll DoEdit for quality\nCatch spelling, grammar, factual, and formatting errors before content goes live.\n\nRewrite passive constructions into active voice and replace jargon with plain language.\n\nTighten wordy sentences without losing the point.\n\nCheck that headings are logical and accurately reflect the content beneath them.\n\nVerify stats, claims, and quotes against primary sources, and flag anything unverified.\n\nApply our style guide\nApply Inspira’s house style consistently across punctuation, capitalization, formatting, and tone.\n\nFlag style deviations for writers rather than silently fixing them, so they learn the rules over time.\n\nSuggest updates to the style guide as you spot patterns or gaps.\n\nEdit for search and AI discoverability\nMake sure each section leads with its main point rather than burying the answer.\n\nHelp break content into clear, self-contained sections that answer a specific question.\n\nSpot forced keywords or unnatural phrasing, and make the writing read naturally for people first.\n\nCheck that link text is descriptive and specific (no “click here”).\n\nFollow our SEO and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) guidelines as you edit.\n\nSupport the editorial workflow\nKeep multiple pieces moving through briefs, review stages, and approvals on deadline.\n\nGive writers clear, constructive feedback that explains the reason behind each change.\n\nWork with coaches and subject-matter experts to clarify and strengthen their drafts.\n\nHelp document and improve our editorial processes as we scale.\n\nWhat We’re Looking ForRequired\n2–3 years of professional editing or copyediting experience (digital publishing, content marketing, agency, or similar).\n\nExcellent command of grammar, punctuation, and style, plus the judgment to know when a rule should flex.\n\nA sharp eye for detail and a commitment to catching errors before they ship.\n\nAbility to give kind, specific, actionable feedback to writers.\n\nComfort working with subject-matter experts and non-professional writers.\n\nStrong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\n\nFamiliarity with SEO fundamentals (search intent, on-page best practices) and curiosity about how AI-driven search is changing content.\n\nA portfolio or a few before/after editing samples you can walk us through.\n\nBased remotely in Canada\n\nNice to have\nExperience with style guides, whether using or contributing to one.\n\nExperience editing for admissions, higher education, or other high-stakes audiences.\n\nFamiliarity with a CMS (WordPress, Webflow, or similar) and tools like Google Docs, Notion, or Asana.\n\nBasic understanding of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).\n\nWhy you'll love Inspira\nAmazing people with a great vision and values\n\nMission-driven team culture focused on student success\n\nYour work directly impacts the lives and careers of students across the globe\n\nHealth, dental, and vision insurance, base plans 100% employer paid\n\nPre-tax benefits (HSA, FSA, DCFSA, Commuter)\n\nFlexible paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays\n\n401(k) with company match\n\nThe total compensation for this role is $55,000.
