We work as trusted partners, creating better solutions and experiences for customers, communities, and colleagues.\nAbout the role:\nWe are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting team at our Head Office in Calgary, AB. This in-office position plays a key role in managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting, and supporting the organization’s budgeting and financial analysis activities. The Senior Accountant will also support the development, implementation and ongoing effectiveness of internal controls, accounting policies and financial processes.\nResponsibilities:\nPerform full-cycle accounting, including month-end and year-end close processes, journal entries, invoicing, and bank and general ledger reconciliations.\nReview and analyze technical accounting matters, financial statements, and ad hoc reports and schedules, as required.\nProvide oversight and review of accounts receivable and accounts payable activities.\nEnsure the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of financial information and reporting.\nProvide guidance and support to junior accounting staff in the completion of day-to-day accounting activities.\nSupport the development, implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls and accounting processes.\nPerform expense, inventory and variance analysis.\nAssist with year-end financial statement audit requests, schedules and supporting documentation.\nPrepare and maintain financial and management reporting for senior management.\nReview and analyze payroll information, with particular attention to discrepancies, reconciliations and taxable benefits.\nConsult with external accountants, financial institutions, vendors and other stakeholders, as required.\nAs a condition of employment, the successful candidate may be required to successfully complete employment-related background screening appropriate to the position, which may include a criminal record check and other financial or security screening where reasonably required based on the duties and level of access associated with the role.\nRequirements\nCandidate requirements:\nBachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting;
