This role partners closely with analysts, QA testers, frontend engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, reliable, and high-quality solutions.\nThis candidate works independently on complex initiatives with minimal supervision and provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers. This role requires strong engineering judgment, professionalism, effective collaboration, and a focus on secure, scalable, resilient, and maintainable solutions.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign, build, integrate, and maintain secure backend services and APIs supporting mobile, web, enterprise, and partner systems.\nDesign for performance, reliability, resiliency, observability, quality, and responsiveness.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver sustainable technical solutions.\nDevelop and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests to support reliable delivery.\nApply secure coding, data protection, and engineering standards.\nTroubleshoot production defects, performance bottlenecks, integration issues, and complex service dependencies.\nRefactor code and conduct peer reviews to improve security, quality, readability, and maintainability.\nContribute to solution design, technical documentation, and proof-of-concepts that support architectural decisions.\nSupport services across testing, deployment, production troubleshooting, and continuous operational improvement.\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies and advocate for adaptive planning, automation, reusable solutions, and continuous improvement.\nShare knowledge and support the development of less experienced engineers.\nRequired Qualifications and Skills:\nStrong Java experience, with Java 17 or newer preferred.\nSolid knowledge of enterprise Java, Spring, Spring Boot, web services, and RESTful APIs.\nExperience with automated testing frameworks and practices, such as JUnit and Mockito.\nProficiency with Git and CI/CD tools such as Maven, Docker, Jenkins, GitHub, or Azure DevOps.\nStrong understanding of databases, SQL, and data integration patterns.\nExperience troubleshooting distributed systems and designing scalable, resilient, observable microservices.\nExperience developing cloud-native applications, with Microsoft Azure strongly preferred.\nEffective communication, independent prioritization, and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.\nDesired Qualifications:\nKnowledge of banking or financial services industry standards and practices.\nExperience working in Agile environments and cross-functional teams.\nFamiliarity with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies, such as Kafka.\nBackend Engineer | Digital Engineering\nExposure to data engineering concepts, data management, data migration, high-volume data integrations and performance optimization.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and system design skills.\nAbility to efficiently and responsibly use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.\nAwareness of sustainable coding practices and efficient system design.\nHours: Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM\nLocation: Hiring locations is primarily HQ and GPO, but the manager will review resumes from any of the major campus locations (Pensacola, FL, Winchester, VA, San Diego, CA and Vienna, VA).\nOur benefits package includes:\nComprehensive medical benefits\nCompetitive pay\n401(k) retirement plan\n…and much more!\nAbout INSPYR Solutions\nTechnology is our focus and quality is our commitment.
