This is not a role for someone who has moved entirely away from the accounting details-the successful candidate will be comfortable working directly in the General Ledger, investigating discrepancies, reviewing reconciliations, solving accounting issues, and improving processes while also leading and developing an accounting team.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.\n\nMaintain the integrity of the General Ledger and ensure accurate balance sheet reconciliations.\n\nReview journal entries, accruals, reserves, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.\n\nOversee day-to-day accounting activities across:\nAccounts Receivable\n\nAccounts Payable\n\nCash\n\nTreasury\n\nGeneral Ledger\n\nOther transactional accounting functions\n\nReview accounting work and provide technical guidance to team members.\n\nPrepare and review financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.\n\nSupport accounting across multiple entities and locations.\n\nAssist with consolidations, intercompany transactions, and other complex accounting matters.\n\nOversee key accounting areas including revenue, inventory, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts.\n\nSupport sales and use tax compliance and related reconciliations.\n\nAssist with external audits, tax support, and requests from outside advisors.\n\nMaintain and strengthen accounting controls, policies, procedures, and documentation.\n\nIdentify accounting and process issues and independently drive them through to resolution.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline accounting processes.\n\nWork closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, IT, and other business leaders.\n\nSupport budgeting and financial planning activities.\n\nAssist with acquisitions, integrations, system implementations, and other strategic accounting projects as needed.\n\nTeam Leadership\nThis position will lead an accounting organization of approximately 11 employees, including team members supporting Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and accounting operations.\nThe successful candidate will:\nProvide clear direction, expectations, and accountability.\n\nReview and develop team members.\n\nUnderstand different personalities and adapt their leadership style accordingly.\n\nProvide effective and constructive feedback.\n\nBe approachable, collaborative, and willing to listen.\n\nAdvocate for the team while maintaining appropriate standards and accountability.\n\nDevelop team members so they can operate independently and effectively.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nStrong understanding of accounting fundamentals and General Ledger accounting.\n\nProgressive accounting experience with meaningful involvement in month-end close and financial reporting.\n\nPrevious experience managing or leading an accounting team.\n\nStrong knowledge of accruals, reserves, reconciliations, and financial controls.\n\nExperience with transactional accounting, including AR, AP, cash, and General Ledger functions.\n\nStrong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to independently analyze and solve problems.\n\nAbility to work comfortably in the details and investigate issues without requiring step-by-step direction.\n\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAbility to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.\n\nBachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent relevant experience.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nCPA or MBA is a plus, but not required.\n\nPublic accounting experience is a plus.\n\nPrior experience as an Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accounting Manager, or similar role.\n\nExperience in distribution, construction, project-based, or multi-location environments.\n\nExperience working with multiple entities or ERP systems.\n\nSQL Server experience, including the ability to write or assist with queries.\n\nExperience with Power Query, reporting automation, or other financial technology tools.\n\nExperience with budgeting and forecasting.\n\nExperience with foreign currency or multi-country accounting.\n\nExperience supporting acquisitions, integrations, or organizational growth.\n\nINSPYR Solutions provides Equal Employment Opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, or any other protected status.
