The Production Controller must be extremely organized and an effective communicator. They are responsible for communicating lead times and turnaround times to the Customer Service Department and to key customer accounts. A strong leader and working supervisor, the Production Controller is a mentor and trainer of department employees who supports the production staff as needed and maintains safety standards within the facility. 1st shift opening.\nRESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PRODUCTION CONTROLLER:\nDirects all day-to-day activities of all department employees\nMentor and develop employees\nUnderstand and support the company training system, coaching, and disciplinary actions for all team members\nParticipate in Leadership Development and team-building activities.\nResponsible for entering any safety concerns and maintenance issues discussed during meetings and discovered by employees to the appropriate department for resolution\nChair and contribute to the daily inter-shift production meetings\nCommunicate and train personnel regarding process changes during shift meetings\nResponsible for developing and accurately maintaining the production furnace schedules ensuring furnace loads are appropriately combined and loads created to ensure a continuous workflow and on time delivery\nManage the incoming area and develop a plan to expedite work effectively and efficiently\nAccurately record downtime and generating corrective action to address negative trends\nCommunicate job delays to Customer Service Department to ensure that exceptional customer relationships are maintained\nManage the turnaround metrics, promises, and default delivery dates\nProcess Monitoring\nReal-time monitoring of furnace charts to ensure conformance with work order requirements\nEnsure that all employees complete daily furnace check sheets\nAssist operators in monitoring and correcting issues\nContribute to the weekly departmental maintenance meeting, weekly quality meeting, and 6S meeting\nBuild relationships with critical external divisional accounts.\nAllocate resources to maintain work areas and the basic working conditions of the facility and equipment.\nPerform a daily walk-around assessment of plant condition and sources of damage and takes the appropriate actions to correct.\nManage 6S and determine and manage the daily, weekly, and monthly 6S cleaning schedules.\nEnsures all employees, including themselves, meet or exceed the 6S requirements of the facility.\nRequirements\nREQUIREMENTS OF THE PRODUCTION CONTROLLER: \n3+ years of production control experience\nHeat treating experience is a plus\nExperience in training and developing employees\nProficient with MS Office\nExperience using Bluestreak or similar QMS system\nStrong knowledge of basic math\n6S safety focused mindset\nEffective leader and mentor\nExcellent written & verbal communication skills\nStrong time management skills\nSelf-motivated\nAble to work collaboratively with internal and external
