Additional duties include researching possible products to recommend and sell to customers. The ideal candidate is a strong researcher, detail oriented in maintaining records, and familiar with lab maintenance and cleaning. The incumbent is responsible for scheduling customer trainings and making their own travel arrangements. Most travel is mostly week days and in the US. Must be able to obtain a passport and must hold a valid and insurable driver license.\nResponsibilities of the Technical Support Chemist include :\nOn-site & virtual installations and trainings at laboratories around the US\nTelephone and email troubleshooting for customers\nAssist in development of methods\nInstrument and software testing\nCreate customer describing procedures for efficient and effective use of instrumentation\nSpecial projects related to customer needs\nAdvise customers on instrumentation and methods\nPerform diagnostics on in-house instruments\nInstrument maintenance\nAssist technical sales with Instrument/software demonstrations\nAssist with sales and marketing strategies\nAttend conferences, exhibitions and demonstrations as required\nRequirements\nRequirements of the Technical Support Chemist:\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry or closely related field\nIdeally have experience in water/wastewater laboratory\nGood analytical chemistry laboratory skills\nIdeally familiar with analyses techniques such as BOD, COD, Metals, Inorganic nutrient analysis\nIdeally have worked with discrete, flow analyzers (FIA, SFA) and/or BOD robotics\nExcellent communication skills\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment as a part of a team to accomplish common goals\nAbility to travel up to 50% of time (available for overnight weeknight travel, up to 3-4 nights per week).
