Rather than focusing on archaic outdated design, we strive to consistently question the “status-quo” and create new and more innovative ways to help aging adults and adults with disabilities maintain their quality of life.\nWith over 23 programs, we offer multiple ways to aid seniors maintain their health, well-being, independence and participation in the community, fulfilling our mission.\nUnder the direct supervision of the Center Supervisor, Center Workers and Van Escorts provide direct services to participants both within the Adult Day Health Center (ADHC) and during transportation to and from the ADHC and medical appointments.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nAbility to transfer, push/pull, maneuver, and reposition up to 35 lbs.\nAbility to reach, bend and walk\nSHARED RESPONSIBILITIES:\nAssist participants with activities of daily living (ADL) such as dressing, toileting, bathing, and feeding as needed, while ensuring safety within the ADHC\nEscort participants to external medical appointments, offering and providing assistance with navigation and other necessary tasks such as transferring, toileting, and dressing as indicated.\nProvide behavioral and emotional supervision or support to participants, including reality orientation and reminders to follow care team recommendations.\nRegularly report observed changes in participants’ condition to the Lead and/or Center Supervisor.\nReport health or safety concerns to the Lead and/or Center Supervisor in a timely manner.\nAssist the activity team with assigned activities as needed.\nMaintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in direct care areas.\nComplete administrative tasks, including reports, documentation, recordkeeping, mandatory training, and attendance at required meetings.\nFollow safe practices, precautions, and proper body mechanics while assisting participants.\nOther responsibilities pursuant to the agreement between IOA and SEIU Local 2015, as assigned.\nVan Escort Responsibilities\nReport to the designated parking lot at the start of each shift. \nAssist participants during transport to the ADHC, working with the assigned driver to ensure safe loading and unloading from the van\nSupport the delivery of participant meals, medications, and other supplies as needed.\nCenter Worker Responsibilities\nReport to the ADHC at the start of each shift.\nAssist with preparing the ADHC for participant arrival, including preparing refreshments, preparing participant supplies, and greeting participants upon arrival.\nAdditional Duties if Assigned as Lead\nMonitor and record daily ADHC attendance, reporting any discrepancies between actual and planned attendance to the Center Supervisor.\nEnsure dayrooms are clean, organized, and fully stocked with needed supplies, coordinating restocks as needed.\nCompletes or assigns daily testing and logging of supplies and equipment to ensure safety (i.e. testing WanderGuard elopement prevention system, testing and logging water temperatures, etc.)\nAssign tasks to staff based on the daily needs of the dayroom and participant care. \nEDUCATION:\nCompleted training as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, and/or equivalent experience working with older adults.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nAt least one year’s work experience working with elderly or disabled adults.\nSincere interest and willingness to work with frail elders in a multilingual, multicultural environment.\nAbility to work as part of an interdisciplinary team with initiative, imagination, resourcefulness and flexibility.\nKnowledge of the community served.\nAbility to communicate and speak clearly in English.\nAgency-paid health exam & TB clearance - must be completed before first assignment.\nBackground clearance prior to client assignment\nMust be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and provide documentation in accordance with federal I-9 requirements\nCOMPENSATION:\nRange: $23 -
