Job Summary

The Manager, Analytics Operations role is a unique opportunity to help shape how data and AI drive decision-making across Insulet as the company continues to expand its impact on people living with diabetes. Position Overview:

Insulet Corporation, maker of the OmniPod, is the leader in tubeless insulin pumps. The Manager Analytics Operations role is a highly technical leadership position in Insulet’s Analytics COE responsible for the execution of global analytics and data science initiatives, according to Insulet’s data analytics strategy. Working for the Senior Director, Artificial Intelligence, Analytics and Advanced Algorithms, you will mentor Data Scientists on the team, and guide the development of tools and processes to transform data into insights with cross-functional subject matter experts. Using data cleaning best practices, aggregation, and joining large datasets, your team will leverage cloud technologies to develop and deploy analytics reporting for a comprehensive view of the business, product, and patient. You will gain detailed knowledge of multiple facets of business operation and collaborate with senior staff in the Analytics COE to support cross-functional efforts spanning R&D, clinical, medical affairs, quality, and global manufacturing among others. This position is intended for an individual with a data science background, and with a demonstrated track record of effective leadership who is highly competent in both hands-on data science work and management responsibilities. Responsibilities:

• Interface with IT, executives, and numerous cross functional leaders across the breadth of the organization to identify data science opportunities with extraordinary business value and then coordinate, mentor, guide and support the Analytics COE scientists to fully realize the potential value.
• Manage a team of data scientists to execute high quality data science and analytics efforts and provide excellent leadership to continually develop their potential and ensure retention of talented people.
• Own the data products and insights delivery portfolio of analytics and guide the use of cloud computing technologies for building and deploying automated machine learning and analytics pipelines, such as Azure, AWS, GCP, etc. Explore data patterns using existing data science tools and self-created programs.
• Perform statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and generate automated reporting as required.
• Clearly communicate findings to a broad audience, in relation to business objectives.
• Maintain a yearly budget with periodic updates and reforecasting.
• Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

• Master’s with 5+ years of experience or PhD degree with 3+ years of experience in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
• At least 2 years of work experience on machine learning, artificial intelligence, or statistical inferences.
• Previous experience in directly managing teams in a fast-paced environment and experience in medical device or healthcare industries.

• Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and one or more relational databases, such as Oracle, Teradata, Microsoft SQL Server, etc
• Knowledge of diabetes pathophysiology, insulin signaling, and/or human physiology
• Knowledge in non-relational databases (MongoDB) is a plus
• Experience in Business Intelligence tools, such as Spotfire, Tableau, Cognos
• Demonstrated knowledge of software engineering principles and practices
• Ability to work independently without detailed guidance, while maintaining effective communications with leaders and stakeholders
• Ability to communicate effectively and document objectives and procedures.

Additional Information:

Compensation & Benefits: For U.S.-based positions only, the annual base salary range for this role is $168,800.00 - $253,250.00 This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation.
