This individual will be trained and cross-trained to both operate and troubleshoot issues across a variety of technologies including heat staking, laser welding, mechanical swaging, printed circuit board (PCB) handling and testing, robotic automation, metal stamping and bending, form/fill/seal medical packaging, and high-speed discrete component assembly. The Production Technicians are responsible for assisting production engineers and liaise with maintenance team for production project management such as yield improvement, standardization of operating principles including the work instruction update, and continuous improvement in cooperation with different departments. The role will focus efforts on developing Insulet Malaysia into a world-class manufacturing plant through a heavy emphasis on reliability engineering, standard operating procedures, result orientated, hands-on activities and operational scorecards.\nBusiness needs may necessitate the need to adjust shift start and end times and will require working in shifts.\nInsulet Corporation (NASDAQ: PODD) is an innovative medical device company dedicated to making the lives of people with diabetes easier. Insulet's Delivery Systems business also partners with global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to tailor the OmniPod technology platform for the delivery of subcutaneous drugs across multiple therapeutic areas.\nResponsibilities:\nPerform all tasks and responsibilities delegated by production engineer with respect to the ongoing task and implementation of the improvement plan across the entire production process.\nFollow-up the trend by machine process scraps to optimize the production performance as required by production engineers.\nConduct the material side-by-side study to evaluate the material variation against the production performance.\nTake readings and data collection to the machine-to-machine variation based on the daily data.\nTogether with production engineer to review the manufacturing scorecard with the production team regularly to follow up the improvement action items.\nRepresent the production department to follow up the verification build or engineering study\nAble to work in small groups and cross functional teams to troubleshoot issues, identify and implement collective corrective actions\nFollow up the production issue with the production team on a 24/7 basis in necessary\nPerform other duties as required\nMinimum Requirements:\nEducation and Experience:\nDiploma in engineering discipline, preference in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial engineering\nMinimum 3 years’ experience of production technician or process technician\nWork experience at high-volume manufacturing line in cleanroom environment\nData-driven decision-making and result oriented\nMulti-language fluency (English, Malay minimum)\nPreferred Skills and Competencies:\nPreferred familiarity with cGMP guidelines and ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR 820 regulations.\nProficiency in computer aided design and standard computer/MSOffice systems. Fundamental knowledge of ERP systems; MES is a plus\nHands-on experience in set-up and operation of automated production equipment.\nPossess the initiative and drive for continual improvement.\nAble to fulfill job responsibilities in a fast-paced/high-volume production environment.\nPrevious experience running, debugging, and/or maintaining highly automated discrete component assembly equipment is preferred.\nPrevious experience with technologies such as laser welding, heat staking, ultrasonic welding, and ESD-sensitive devices preferred but not required.\nExperience in a start-up production environment is a plus.\nExperience working with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).\nFamiliarity with manufacturing instrumentation such as optical gauging, video microscopes, micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, dial indicators, and gauge blocks.\nPhysical Requirements (if applicable):\nMust be able to stand and bend up to 12 hours a day.\nRequired to lift above shoulder frequently and below waist occasionally.\nPre-employment medical health check is required / Fit to work for this job by doctor.\nNo history of back pain, neck pain, cervical or other related issues.\nNo history of drug use.
