However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.\nAbout the role\nWe’re looking for a Manager, Government Relations to join our growing team!\nAs a Manager, Government Relations you will play an important role in the development and execution of Intact Financial Corporation’s (IFC) government relations strategy. This includes working with stakeholders across the organization to maintain and enhance IFC’s profile, reputation and influence with all levels of government in Canada and in some cases, regulatory bodies, non-governmental organizations, and trade associations. Working in a large organization, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with key areas of the business such as Legal, Climate, Social Impact/ESG, Communications and more to ensure alignment on issues that impact IFC across all markets.\nWhat you’ll do here:\nDevelop and execute government relations strategies that are aligned with IFC’s business objectives.\nManage and support IFC’s government relations and advocacy efforts at the federal and provincial levels.\nIdentify, analyze, and monitor relevant public policy and political issues and initiatives that impact our key markets. Provide counsel and advice to senior leaders and business units.\nOversee and contribute to the development of a range of strategic communications products (i.e., speaking notes, briefing materials, presentations, etc.) working in conjunction with team members and relevant business units.\nFoster and maintain relationships with key government decision makers, policy makers and advisors as well as with non-governmental organizations, trade associations and other stakeholder groups.\nEnsure IFC lobbying registries are kept up to date and accurate.\nManage a team of 2 talented, driven high performers to bring strategies to life and achieve overall objectives.\nWhat you’ll bring to the table:\n Minimum 8 years of experience working in a provincial or federal government or private sector government relations/public affairs (in-house, consulting or association) - is required\nMinimum 5 years experience leading or managing a team of direct reports.\nExceptional written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to lobby federally is an asset.\nExperience with issues affecting the financial services/insurance industry is an asset.\nPost secondary education in Political Science or a related field.\nHighly organized and able to manage workflow efficiently with autonomy and flexibility and without continuous supervision.\nProven ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and expectations simultaneously.\nHigh degree of professionalism and ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.\nTeam player with a positive attitude.\nFor candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.\nCe poste jouera un rôle essentiel au sein de notre équipe. | This position will fill an essential role in our team.\nWe are an equal opportunity employer\nAt Intact, our Value of respect is founded on seeing diversity as a strength.
