However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.\nAbout the role\nAbout the Role:\nThe key responsibility for this role would be to oversee forecasting, internal and external capital reporting and to assist in communications with Canadian regulators. The role reports to the Director of Capital and could have a single direct report. The role would be expected to coordinate with Actuarial, Risk, Finance and Investment teams on projects and requests.\nWhat you’ll do:\nCapital Management - Canada:\nRegulatory Expertise:\nDevelop an in-depth of the Canadian Minimum Capital test as administered by Canadian regulators. The expectation is that this role becomes the reference for the company in the calculation and developments of this standard. \nParticipate in industry committees related to changes in the regulatory capital standard and any proposed changes.\nOversee capital modeling for regulated Canadian insurance entities and provide regular reports and analysis regarding the financial condition of the entities. Modeling would include:\nChanges in underwriting results including payment patterns, reinsurance structures, reserve adjustments, and growth.\nChanges in market levels, investment mixes and the impact of complex financial instruments on the capital levels.\nThe impact of all other balance sheet or off-balance sheet items which may have an impact on capital (e.g. defined benefit plans, derivative financial instruments, structured settlements, etc.)\nPrepare and present Canadian capital-related internal and external reports as required.\nPerforming financial and underwriting stress tests. The purpose being to identify, quantify and recommend capital strategies to restore the capital position for Canadian entities.\nSupport capital related needs of other Canadian teams:\nProvide support to Accounting, Risk Management, Investments and Tax with ad hoc capital related queries and requests.\nAid in preparing documents for communication with federal and provincial Canadian regulators.\nResponsible for quarter-end Canadian Capital Disclosures and auditing requirements.\nAssist in analysis in mergers and acquisitions.\nWhat you’ll bring:\nPost secondary education in actuarial, accounting, tax, investments, treasury or corporate finance - is required.\nMinimum 5 years of experience specializing in insurance financial functions.\nAdvanced technical knowledge using Power Point and Excel, Power BI and financial modelling - is required\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey and present technical information to senior leadership in a professional manner - is required\nFor candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.\nIl s'agit d'un nouveau rôle au sein de notre équipe en pleine croissance | This role is a new member of our growing team.\nWe are an equal opportunity employer\nAt Intact, our Value of respect is founded on seeing diversity as a strength.
