Our employees are passionate about providing insurance coverage that’s aligned to our targeted customer groups.

Intact’s Global Specialty Lines business spans across more than 20 verticals in four distinct markets: U.S., Canada, UK and Europe. The following opportunity is for our U.S. team.

The opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for an IT Manager to join our Corporate IT team based in our Canton, MA; Boston, MA; Farmington, CT or Raleigh, NC offices on a hybrid schedule. The IT Manager is responsible for managing the IT Program and Project Management function within the IT Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring consistent execution of project management standards, governance, and delivery practices across the organization. Oversees Program and Project Managers accountable for planning, coordinating, and delivering technology initiatives across the full project lifecycle, including the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Establishes and enforces PMO standards for project planning, required lifecycle artifacts, risk and issue management, change control, status reporting, and executive communication. Ensures projects are managed consistently, risks are proactively addressed, resources are effectively coordinated, and delivery commitments align with business priorities. Provides leadership, coaching, and performance management to the PMO team while driving continuous improvement in delivery predictability, transparency, and accountability. Some of the IT Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Team Leadership and Performance Management: Manage, coach, and develop Program and Project Managers, establishing clear performance expectations, accountability, and consistent delivery practices.
  • Project Lifecycle and SDLC Governance: Establish and enforce project lifecycle standards across initiation, discovery and requirements, design, development/configuration, testing, deployment, and hypercare. Ensure phase gates, entry/exit criteria, and required approvals are completed.
  • PMO Standards and Required Artifacts: Maintain standardized project management methodologies, templates, and controls. Ensure required artifacts are completed and maintained, including project charters, business cases, project plans, requirements, RAID logs, change requests, test plans/results, implementation plans, operational readiness assessments, and closure documentation.
  • Project Health, RAG Status, and Reporting: Define and enforce objective Red/Amber/Green (RAG) criteria, reporting standards, and escalation thresholds. Ensure timely, accurate reporting of progress against scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, dependencies, and expected outcomes, including mitigation plans and decisions required.
  • Delivery Oversight and Accountability: Monitor program and project execution against approved baselines, milestones, budgets, and quality expectations. Drive corrective actions, issue resolution, and recovery plans to maintain delivery commitments.
  • Risk, Issue, and Change Management: Ensure proactive identification and management of risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies. Enforce change control processes and ensure impacts to scope, schedule, budget, resources, and business outcomes are assessed and approved.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Escalation: Build effective relationships with business and technology leaders, vendors, and cross-functional teams. Facilitate decisions, resolve delivery impediments, and escalate material risks and variances to the appropriate leadership or governance body.
  • Resource and Financial Management: Oversee resource planning, capacity coordination, project budgets, and forecasts. Identify resource conflicts and financial variances, partnering with leadership to align delivery plans with approved priorities.
  • Delivery Readiness and Cross-Functional Coordination: Ensure early engagement across application development, data, architecture, infrastructure, security, testing, and operations. Verify that testing, business acceptance, security requirements, deployment plans, support documentation, and operational readiness criteria are satisfied before release, as applicable.
  • Governance and Executive Reporting: Support portfolio reviews, steering committees, and change control boards with consolidated reporting, delivery insights, risks, and recommendations to enable timely, informed decisions. Monitor delivery metrics, identify process improvements, and drive adoption of PMO standards across the organization.
