We perform R&D on next-generation systems and technologies for the Department of Defense and other U.S. Government agencies. We are hardware and software developers with experience transforming research into fieldable technology. Our core portfolio of research includes projects in power & energy systems, unmanned systems (with an emphasis on maritime systems), digital engineering, cyber security, and advanced manufacturing. Our mission is to create a safer world by translating scientific discoveries into reliable products that address urgent national security needs… at the speed of relevance.\nCompany Benefits\nInteger fully covers medical, prescription, vision, and dental insurance costs for the employee and dependents. Meaning Integer standard plan pays 100% of health insurance premiums for your entire family from a well-known national insurer, saving its employee’s thousands of dollars annually.\nRelocation assistance available.\nBase salaries which exceed local & national industry averages.\nYear-end performance-based bonuses.\n401(k) with company matching that vest immediately; no funny business.\nPaid Vacation\nPaid Sick Leave\nPaid Holidays\nCompany Perks\nStartup culture with the stability of a large company. Integer’s business plan has years of time-phased contracted work, alleviating the would-be risk from a traditional small company.\nDirect access to company leadership, prioritization of people over process, and a stellar team with a shared desire for personal and professional growth.\nFriendly atmosphere where people enjoy not only their work and what they’re creating but enjoy helping each other as well.\n About the role\nInteger Technologies seeks a Lead Cyber Engineer to provide senior-level technical leadership across research efforts supporting Navy-relevant cyber-physical systems, with a primary focus on the cyber resilience of naval power and energy systems. This role is located in Tallahassee, FL, and is centered on joint work with Florida State University’s Center for Advanced Power Systems (CAPS) as part of a Navy-funded cyber-physical security program.\nThe Lead Cyber Engineer will help shape technical approaches for Zero Trust Architecture development, cyber-physical resilience research, and threat-informed defensive methods for naval power systems. The role will guide junior and mid-career engineers and serve as a key technical interface with both Navy sponsors and CAPS university partners, who play a central role in modeling, simulation, experimentation, and AI/ML research for power system security. The Lead Engineer will also contribute to business development and capture by helping identify new research directions, drafting technical proposal content, and supporting sponsor engagement. This position demands strong initiative, deep expertise in cyber-physical research (particularly power systems and embedded controls), and the ability to execute complex R&D with minimal oversight.\nWhat you'll do\nProvide technical leadership across cyber-physical R&D for Navy-relevant power systems, helping structure tasking, refine approaches, and guide engineers performing cyber-physical system modeling, cyber risk analysis, dynamic cyber defense research, and feasibility studies.\nLead research into dynamic cyber defense methods and cyber-resiliency frameworks for embedded control systems, including vulnerability taxonomies, defensive strategies, mission-impact metrics, lifecycle-aware resilience approaches, and Zero Trust Architecture development for naval power systems.\nDrive AI/ML -based anomaly detection research for embedded systems and support integration of advanced analytics into modeling, simulation, and test environments for power system security workflows.\nDevelop and oversee bench -scale experiments and digital modeling environments, and controlled field demonstrations to validate cyber-physical resilience approaches, ensuring experimental rigor and clear validation of concepts for naval power systems.\nServe as a primary technical interface with Florida State University’s Center for Advanced Power Systems (CAPS) and other university partners, coordinating joint research activities, experiment planning, shared modeling/simulation, and AI/ML development tasks focused on power system cyber resilience.\nCollaborate with Navy sponsors, program managers, and research teams to refine technical plans, present findings, support assessment cycles, and manage task interdependencies aligned to SOW milestones.\nContribute to business development and capture, including shaping new research directions in cyber-physical resilience for power and energy systems, authoring technical proposal content, and maintaining relationships with government and academic stakeholders.\nProduce high-quality documentation, including research papers, experiment reports, sponsor deliverables, and clear presentations of complex technical findings for non-experts and government sponsors, while ensuring CUI data security.\nRequired Qualifications\nMust be a U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.\nBachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience, or Master’s degree and 6 years of experience in cybersecurity, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related discipline. \nDemonstrated technical leadership experience in cyber-physical systems research, including modeling, simulation, cyber risk assessment, vulnerability analysis, or dynamic defense concept development (preferably involving power systems or embedded control systems).\nStrong background in state-of-the-art cybersecurity approaches, including AI/ML-based anomaly detection, embedded systems security, and power systems cybersecurity.\nExperience with AI/ML-enabled anomaly detection or modeling approaches for embedded systems. \nExperience designing, executing, or leading laboratory and simulation based, and field-based experiments for cyber-physical resilience assessment.\nExcellent communication skills for sponsor interaction, proposal development, documentation of complex technical findings, and cross-institution collaboration.\nDesired Qualifications\nExperience with cyber research for power systems or naval shipboard power and energy systems.\nExperience collaborating directly with university research groups or academic laboratories (e.g., CAPS-style modeling and simulation environments).\nFamiliarity with Navy platforms, maritime cyber-physical systems, or electrification of naval platforms.\nExperience developing or applying mission-impact models and digital modeling environments to simulate cyber-physical interactions for power systems.\nProficiency developing or using digital modeling and simulation environments for cyber-physical resilience and mission-level assessment.\nExperience contributing technical content to proposals, white papers, or long-term research plans, and familiarity with DoD research program workflows.\nExperience working in CUI environments or contributing to multi-phase research deliverables and technology transition planning.","description_format":"text","description_chars":7219,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":8,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":true,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Dental
