{"id":2509955,"url":"https://alion.io/job/integralfed-cloud-sre-systems-engineer","title":"Cloud SRE Systems Engineer","company":{"id":4421101,"name":"Integral Federal","domain":"integralfed.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/integralfed","size_band":"5000+","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"iCIMS","truth_index":null},"role":"DevOps","role_family":"DevOps","seniority":"senior","employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Tysons, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":{"min":140000,"max":160000,"currency":"USD","period":"year","gross":null,"usd_annual":160000},"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":7,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"AWS","optional":false},{"name":"Azure DevOps","optional":false},{"name":"GitHub","optional":false},{"name":"Jira","optional":false},{"name":"SLI/SLO/SLA","optional":false},{"name":"Azure","optional":true}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-14T08:42:43Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-14","last_verified_at":"2026-10-14T16:10:26Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":0,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":0},"description":"Overview\nThe Cloud Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring reliability, availability, performance, and operational excellence of VA product environments deployed in the VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC) for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Product Delivery Services (PDS), Benefits and Memorials (BAM), Memorial and Benefit Services (MBS) deliver secure, reliable, and effective Information Technology (IT) solutions that support the Department’s mission.\nResponsibilities\nApplies SRE practices, manages cloud environments, performs patching and automation, ensures compliance with required Service Level Targets (SLTs), supports deployments, handles incidents, and maintains monitoring, observability, and operational documentation\nMaintain all environments in an operational state across VAEC, including application/system hardware 24x7x365.\nApply OS and application patches and perform backup and restoration activities. \nSupport software releases (often outside core hours) and validate maximum load after production deployment. \nManage and optimize cloud resource utilization, including capacity planning and forecasting\nImplement SRE practices and patterns to improve reliability, performance, automation, fault tolerance, telemetry, logging, and alerting across distributed and microservices architectures. \nImprove fault tolerance for distributed/microservices systems when components or resources become temporarily unavailable. \nConduct trend analysis of system performance and resource utilization to forecast future demand and identify bottlenecks. \nImplement real-time proactive monitoring dashboards enabling visibility into system health and alerting. \nQualifications\nRequired:\nBachelor’s Degree in computer science or IT related degree with 7-10 years' experience\nKnowledge of modern SRE practices: automation, resilience engineering, observability, fault tolerance, SLT/SLA adherence, and incident analysis. \nExperience producing monitoring reports, SLT assessments, postmortems, and operational dashboards\nExperience with Jira and GitHub\nCompetency maintaining IRPs, DRPs, backup/restore plans, and executing continuity operations\nStrong documentation and communication skills for reporting outages, SLT performance, and incident updates\nPublic Trust\nPreferred:\nExperience with AWS VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC)\nExperience with Azure DevOps\nSalary Range: $140,000 - $160,000\nThis role is in the proposal stage. The above salary range represents a general guideline.
