{"id":2509952,"url":"https://alion.io/job/integralfed-dataintegration-architect","title":"Data/Integration Architect","company":{"id":4421101,"name":"Integral Federal","domain":"integralfed.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/integralfed","size_band":"5000+","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"iCIMS","truth_index":null},"role":"Data Science","role_family":"Data Science","seniority":"staff","employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Tysons, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":{"min":165000,"max":190000,"currency":"USD","period":"year","gross":null,"usd_annual":190000},"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":10,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"Agile","optional":false},{"name":"ETL/ELT","optional":false},{"name":"Flyway","optional":false},{"name":"Liquibase","optional":false},{"name":"Rest API","optional":false},{"name":"Scrum","optional":false},{"name":"Java","optional":true}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-14T08:42:43Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-14","last_verified_at":"2026-10-14T16:10:26Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":0,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":0},"description":"Overview\nThe Data/Integration Architect provides enterprise-level data architecture and integration strategy across the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Product Delivery Services (PDS), Benefits and Memorials (BAM), and Memorial and Benefit Services (MBS) to deliver secure, reliable, and effective Information Technology (IT) solutions that support the Department’s mission.\nResponsibilities\nDesigns data models, pipelines, and integration patterns that ensure secure, reliable, and scalable data exchange while complying with VA Enterprise Architecture (EA), security requirements, and product line strategy\nDevelop enterprise data models, including conceptual, logical, and physical models, aligned with VA EA standards. \nDesign and implement data pipelines and integration patterns across VA systems, internal APIs, and external partners. \nDocument and maintain Solution Architecture Packages, Data Dictionaries, and Data Models for VA review and approval. \nEnsure all integrations comply with VA EA, security mandates, NIST standards, and architecture style guide (ASG). \nPerform Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), dependency mapping, and architectural strategy development for new integrations and capabilities. \nSupport integration of BOSS-E, MBMS, and VA-EISS services into the BIP Platform, contributing to VA-EISS 2.0 modernization. \nRecommend, design, and support data analytics, AI/ML data pipelines, BI solutions, and data governance frameworks. \nEstablish data baselines, define data requirements, analyze query patterns, and optimize database/data pipeline performance. \nProvide integration strategy and coordination support needed to enable BIP tenancy and common services adoption. \nSupport documentation for system inventory (VASI), FINOPS systems, ATO artifacts, and compliance deliverables.\nQualifications\nRequired:\nBachelor’s Degree in computer science or IT with 10+ years' experience\nExperience designing and implementing data pipelines and integration patterns across multiple platforms and systems (e.g., VA-EISS, BOSS-E, MBMS). \nDemonstrated experience producing Solution Architecture Packages, dependency maps, and Analysis of Alternatives (AoA). \nExperience integrating data and services into enterprise cloud platforms (e.g., VAEC / BIP). \nExperience supporting compliance artifacts such as ATO documentation, VASI system inventory updates, and data governance frameworks. \nExperience working in Agile environments (Scrum, SAFe), supporting PI Planning, backlog strategy, and cross-team architectural alignment\nExpertise in data modeling tools, ETL/ELT pipelines, data orchestration, and performance optimization.\nStrong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, baselining, lineage tracking, and authoritative data integration. \nExperience with REST services and JSON data format\nSkilled in mapping dependencies, designing reusable integration patterns, and ensuring alignment with security, compliance, and operational constraints.\nAbility to collaborate across Product Lines, System Teams, and Scrum Teams to ensure architectural consistency\nPublic Trust\nPreferred:\nExperience with DMS, GoldenGate, Glue, Liquibase/Flyway; or VA data architecture\nSalary Range: $165,000 - $190,000\nThis position is in the proposal stage. The above salary range represents a general guideline.
