{"id":2509947,"url":"https://alion.io/job/integralfed-network-engineer","title":"Network Engineer","company":{"id":4421101,"name":"Integral Federal","domain":"integralfed.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/integralfed","size_band":"5000+","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"iCIMS","truth_index":null},"role":"Networking","role_family":"Networking","seniority":null,"employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Tysons, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":{"min":135000,"max":160000,"currency":"USD","period":"year","gross":null,"usd_annual":160000},"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-14T08:42:43Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-14","last_verified_at":"2026-10-14T12:36:38Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":0,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":0},"description":"Overview\nThe Network Engineer is responsible for end-to-end monitoring, observability, network performance management, logging, alerting, synthetic testing, and operational reliability of VA product environments for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Product Delivery Services (PDS), Benefits and Memorials (BAM), Memorial and Benefit Services (MBS) deliver secure, reliable, and effective Information Technology (IT) solutions that support the Department’s mission.\nResponsibilities\nEstablish baselines, maintain dashboards, implement proactive alerting, perform incident triage, support SRE practices, and ensure compliance with service level targets across all cloud and on-prem environments\nEstablish performance, availability, and capacity baselines for all VA product environments. \nImplement real-time and proactive monitoring dashboards providing visibility into product health and performance. \nWork with VA to instrument significant data paths and business transactions for monitoring and optimization. \nImplement monitoring plugins, agents, and synthetic tests to track system, network, application, and database behaviors. \nPerform trend analysis, periodic reviews, and forecasting of system performance and resource utilization. \nIdentify upstream/downstream performance impacts based on changes to functionality or user behavior. \nProvide 24x7x365 monitoring and incident response for VA environments. \nInvestigate attempted or successful intrusions, isolate systems, preserve forensic evidence, and provide Incident Reports.\nQualifications\nRequired:\nBachelor’s Degree in computer science or an IT-related degree with 7-10 years' experience\nExpertise in IT monitoring tools, cloud service provider monitoring, logging platforms, and observability frameworks. \nExperience instrumenting systems, networks, applications, and databases for metrics and log collection. \nStrong knowledge of alerting systems, synthetic monitoring, telemetry pipelines, and performance baselines. \nFamiliarity with SRE principles (fault tolerance, automated monitoring, resilience engineering). \nExperience with distributed systems, microservices architectures, and cloud-based environments (VAEC). \nPublic Trust\nSalary Range: $135,000 - $160,000\nThis position is in the proposal stage. The above salary range represents a general guideline.
