This career site is for external applicants only.\nEmployee Type: RegularThe successful candidate will be responsible for performing duties in the areas of financial and cost accounting, such as budgeting and reporting functions at the Freedom Mine.Job Description:\nEssential Duties:\nProvide support with the annual operating and long-range budget projections\nAid in the completion and distribution of the monthly Mine Cost Report\nAssist with various cost analysis projects and comparison reports\nProvide backup for daily financial/cost accounting duties as needed, including AP functions, time and data entry and other database maintenance\nAssist in the preparation of financial statements and cost reports on a timely and accurate basis\nPreparation and input of journal entries into the general accounting system\nProvide support regarding the analysis of general ledger account activity and supply requested information\nAssist in the preparation of schedules for financial audits, both internal and external\nPerform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, and state and federal regulations (including but not limited to accounting, employment and environmental regulations) \nOther Duties:\nAssist with statistical research and provide information and support for other departments and mine personnel\nPerform other duties as directed\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nThorough understanding of accounting principles and systems\nProficient in Microsoft Office products\nKnowledge of or willingness to learn advanced Microsoft Excel functions to include power query and power pivot\nKnowledge of business intelligence applications and practices, such as Power BI, is a plus\nMust possess the ability to handle confidential information\nMust be accurate and detail oriented\nMust possess good interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills\nAbility to work independently and in a fast-paced work environment\nMinimum Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field is required; or, four years of experience as an accountant may be considered in lieu of degree\nCMA or CPA certification is preferred\nANALYSIS OF PHYSICAL DEMANDS FOR POSITION:\nIntermittent: None\nOccasionally (0-1/3 of workday): Walking; standing; lift and/or carry 30 lbs. (office items); push and/or pull 20 lbs.
