Related journal entries, audit workpapers, payments, cash forecasts and budgets will be prepared consistently following generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) at all times. This position includes decisions and/or recommendations regarding personnel actions and employee development.Job Description:\nEssential Duties:\nFairly state financial statements with no deviations from GAAP\nResponsible for all audits, including but not limited to Internal, external, federal and state\nRemain current with GAAP pronouncements\nSupervise, lead, train, and develop personnel\nCommunicate with internal and external customers and process requested information\nResponsible for long- and short-term cash and financing projections, and related budgets\nResponsible for calculating mine closing financial entries and forecasts\nPerform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures and state and federal environmental regulations\nOther Duties & Responsibilities:\nAbility to work under stringent deadlines and multi-task\nAbility to prioritize multiple requests and projects\nDetail-oriented and highly accurate\nDevelop and conduct training\nPerform other duties as assigned\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nEthical, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential information\nExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate financial positions to non-accountant management\nAccurate, detail oriented and dependable\nStrong knowledge of current GAAP requirements\nStrong knowledge and experience with audit procedures\nSelf-motivated with good time-management and organizational skills\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite products - especially Excel, Outlook, and Word\nExperience with successfully directing and supervising others\nEducation and Training:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required\nMinimum of 6 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or financial planning is required\nPrevious supervisory experience leading accounting or financial teams is preferred\nCertified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred\nANALYSIS OF PHYSICAL DEMANDS FOR POSITION:\nIntermittent: None\nOccasionally (0-1/3 of workday): Walking; standing; lift and/or carry 40 lbs. (office items); push and/or pull 40 lbs.
