And YOU might be a part of this amazing growth as our team keeps growing above all expectations!\nWhat you'll do:\nAs a Software Engineer, you will work across both legacy system support and the development of a modern platform rebuild. You will play a key role in ensuring business-critical systems remain stable while contributing to the future of the company's technology.\nYou will investigate and resolve issues, build new features, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. This role requires someone who is comfortable working with both legacy codebases and modern frameworks, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and clean, maintainable code.\nKey responsibilities for this role include:\nLegacy CRM Maintenance & Support\nInvestigate and resolve bugs, data issues, and production incidents across the existing CRM.\nDeliver enhancements and small feature requests in the legacy CodeIgniter/PHP codebase.\nWrite and optimize MySQL queries while protecting data integrity and performance.\nMaintain integrations with third-party services (HubSpot, Microsoft Graph, AWS, Stripe, DocuSign).\nNew CRM Development\nBuild and maintain modules and features for the Laravel-based CRM rebuild.\nDesign, implement and document RESTful APIs and integrations.\nCreate and maintain database migrations, seeders, models and application logic.\nImplement responsive frontend components using the project's current JavaScript libraries and frameworks.\nContribute to technical design discussions and raise risks or alternative approaches early.\nUI/UX, Product Thinking & Continuous Improvement\nConsider the user's goals and workflow when implementing screens and features.\nSuggest practical improvements to navigation, layout, forms, data presentation, accessibility, consistency and usability.\nHelp translate business requirements into clear user flows and implementation options; use sketches, wireframes or prototypes where helpful.\nBalance visual polish and usability with technical constraints, delivery priorities and existing functionality.\nAI-Assisted Development & Engineering Quality\nSupport deployment processes and Docker-based development environments.\nVerify AI-generated suggestions rather than accepting them blindly; understand the code being submitted and test it appropriately.\nDo not expose credentials, confidential business data or production information to unapproved AI tools.\nWrite maintainable code, participate in code reviews, document important decisions and contribute to shared engineering standards.\nSystems, Infrastructure & Collaboration\nSupport Docker-based development environments, deployment processes and CI/CD practices.\nFollow secure coding, access control, data handling and operational best practices.\nCommunicate progress, blockers, estimates and recommendations clearly and early.\nCollaborate constructively with the development team, business stakeholders and Australian colleagues; clarify requirements rather than making risky assumptions.\nSuccessful candidates must have:\nAt least 3 years of professional software development experience, with strong PHP experience.\nHands-on Laravel experience (or a comparable modern PHP framework), including REST/JSON APIs, validation, authentication and application logic.\nSolid MySQL or relational database skills, including query writing, schema design, joins, indexing and performance tuning.\nGood JavaScript fundamentals (ES6+); experience with a frontend framework or library such as React or Vue is highly regarded. Familiarity with jQuery and legacy frontend code is useful.\nWorking knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, responsive layouts and a CSS framework.\nExperience with Git and team-based version control; Bitbucket is preferred.\nUnderstanding of MVC, object-oriented programming, API integration, testing and maintainable software design.\nExperience with Docker, AWS, Linux or CI/CD is an advantage.\nPractical experience with AI-assisted coding tools (for example Cursor, Claude Code or OpenAI Codex), or clear evidence of actively learning and experimenting with AI-enabled software development. Candidates should explain how they verify output and manage risks.\nEvidence of UI/UX awareness, creative problem-solving or improving an existing product/interface.
