You will validate physical layer device performance and apply rigorous technical investigation and debug methodologies to root cause and resolve complex issues spanning electrical signaling, PHY operation, and Layer 1-2 networking protocols.\nThrough your work, you will directly influence product quality and customer success, helping enterprises and hyperscalers deploy reliable, high-performance networking solutions built on Intel technology.\nResponsibilities will include but are not limited to:\nPerforming rigorous stress tests to validate FW managed Ethernet and PCIe links\nPerforming root cause analysis to deliver solutions to link issues\nCharacterizing interconnects (copper, optics) and ecosystem link partner devices (switches) for compliance and interoperability\nCollaborating with product support teams on resolving customer reported issues\nCollaborating with IP design, silicon integration, and electrical validation teams to meet targeted product requirements\nThe ideal candidate should show the following behavioral traits:\nStrong technical communication skills willing to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.\nQualifications:\nMinimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position:\nThis role requires regular onsite presence to fulfill essential job responsibilities.\nBachelor's degree in computer, electrical, systems engineering, or related technical field.\n1+ years of experience in the following disciplines:serial link disciplines such as Ethernet / PCIE/USB etc.\nFoundational analog and digital domain knowledge including voltage, current, impedance, frequency terminology, 8/16/32-bit hexadecimal notation, read/write/modify memory operations.\nFamiliar with Linux OS and scripting languages such as Python or similar\nFamiliar with creating bespoke scripts for automating tasks.\n\nPreferred qualifications, are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates:\n2+ years of practical engineering experience in a relevant field\nHierarchical HW design interpretation using schematic and layout views and tools experience\nKnowledge of Ethernet, PCIe, or other high-speed serial communication technologies such DDR, SATA, USB or and associated Standards (example: IEEE Std. 802.3-2022)\nMicrocontroller, FPGA, or programmable device experience\nProven success with using technical documents such as datasheets or programmer's manual to control electronic devices\nScripting skillset, using Python or similar\nDirect experience with using test equipment such as oscilloscopes\nWe are looking for engineers who thrive on solving complex technical challenges, take ownership of customer outcomes, and enjoy collaborating across hardware, software, and system domains.
