Job Description:

The engineer is responsible for defining and executing silicon power and thermal validation across Intel products. The role drives power and thermal optimization through workload analysis, characterization across voltage and temperature conditions, thermal solution validation, and collaboration with architecture, design, verification, and platform teams. The engineer develops thermal validation methodologies, conducts thermal characterization across operating conditions, identifies thermal gaps and optimization opportunities, and helps drive next-generation product thermal design and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute power and thermal validation plans.

Perform silicon characterization across voltage, process, and temperature corners.

Drive power and thermal optimization through detailed workload analysis.

Validate thermal solutions and thermal management features.

Conduct root cause analysis and design experiments for thermal issues.

Develop validation methodologies and infrastructure, including:

Performance monitors

Behavioral checkers

Coverage and test frameworks

Execute failure analysis and troubleshoot silicon issues.

Partner with architecture, design, verification, and platform teams to improve product quality and meet product specifications.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.

6+ years of experience in silicon power and thermal validation with a Bachelor's degree, 4+ years with a Master's degree, or 2+ years with a PhD.

3+ years of experience with post-silicon validation and debug of CPU, SoC, or server-class products.

3+ years of experience performing thermal characterization, thermal data collection, and workload-based thermal analysis.

Experience developing or maintaining validation tools, automation, or infrastructure for silicon validation and characterization.

Experience analyzing thermal telemetry, sensor data, and characterization results to identify and debug silicon or platform issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience with server, data center, or high-performance computing products.

Experience with thermal solution validation, thermal management technologies, or thermal algorithm characterization.

Experience collaborating with architecture, design, firmware, software, platform, and manufacturing teams throughout product development.

Experience developing data analysis, reporting, or validation automation solutions using scripting or programming languages.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $164,470.00-232,190.00 USDThe range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
