The group focuses on developing integrated systems that align with customer needs and support Intel's broader goals of leadership in technology innovation. SPE collaborates across diverse domains to ensure Intel platforms meet performance, reliability, and scalability requirements.\nOur work sits at the intersection of silicon, board hardware, firmware, validation, signal and power integrity, mechanical and thermal engineering, PCB technology, manufacturing, and system integration.\nOur hardware engineers have a broader responsibility than executing an individual design. They help establish platform architecture, guide implementation, identify and qualify appropriate hardware solutions, provide technical leadership during board power-on and debug, and lead resolution of schematic, layout, SI/PI, and hardware issues.\nKey Responsibilities\nPlatform and Board Design\nTranslate platform level requirements into circuit level, component level, and PCB design requirements.\nDesign and develop complex platform boards incorporating high speed digital, analog and mixed-signal circuitry considering board/system-level design tradeoffs during development.\nOwn schematic development for assigned boards, subsystems, and functional blocks, including component definition and selection.\nDevelop electrical solutions associated with processors/SoCs, FPGAs, memory, high-speed interfaces, voltage regulators, clocks, resets, control interfaces, and platform-management functions.\nPCB Design and Implementation\nDefine PCB implementation requirements, including component placement, critical interfaces, routing rules, stack-up considerations, and other layout constraints.\nWork closely with PCB layout engineers and guide board implementation from feasibility through design release/tape-out while meeting multidisciplinary platform requirements.\nReview complex multilayer PCB designs for electrical performance, signal integrity, power integrity, manufacturability, and system requirements.\nApply high speed transmission-line and layout principles to critical interfaces.\nPower, Signal Integrity and Platform Considerations\nApply signal integrity and power integrity principles during board architecture, schematic design, component selection, and PCB implementation.\nDesign and review power delivery architectures, voltage regulation, sequencing, power budgeting, and platform power distribution.\nWork with SI/PI specialists to analyze critical high speed interfaces and power delivery networks and incorporate analysis results into board design.\nUnderstand platform level trade-offs involving electrical performance, power, thermal constraints, PCB implementation, component availability, and manufacturability.\nBoard Bring-up, Validation and Debug\nDevelop and execute board power-on, bring-up, validation, and characterization plans.\nCollaborate with architects, hardware engineers, validation engineers, firmware engineers, technicians, and other specialists during platform power-on and debug.\nTroubleshoot board and system level problems and perform systematic root cause analysis.\nUse laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, logic analyzers, and other measurement equipment for electrical characterization and debug. Analyze failures, determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive issues to technical closure.\nCross-functional Execution\nCollaborate with silicon, firmware, validation, SI/PI, mechanical, thermal, PCB layout, manufacturing, supplier, and program teams.\nIncorporate feedback from verification, validation, manufacturing, and other stakeholders into hardware development and design improvements.\nSupport PCB fabrication, assembly, design-for-manufacturability, design-for-test, and hardware readiness.\nCreate and maintain design specifications, schematics, review documentation, design checklists, bring-up plans, validation reports, and other technical collateral.\n• Own assigned hardware deliverables and proactively identify technical, component, manufacturing, and schedule risks.\nQualifications:\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.\n6+ years relevant hands-on industry experience in platform hardware, boar -level product development, PCB design, or related hardware engineering.\nDemonstrated hands-on experience with PCB design, schematic capture, component definition/selection, and interaction with PCB layout teams.\nStrong fundamentals in digital and analog board design, electrical interfaces, mixed-signal design, and platform power-on.\nExperience with high density, multilayer board design and high speed PCB implementation.\nUnderstanding of high speed interfaces, transmission line fundamentals, signal integrity, and power integrity.\nKnowledge of voltage regulation, power delivery, clocking, resets, and sequencing.\nExperience with industry standard schematic capture and PCB design/review tools like Cadence environments including Allegro and Concept HDL alongside other industry-standard design environments.\nHands-on experience with board power-on, bring-up, electrical measurement, hardware debugging, and root-cause analysis.\nStrong problem solving, communication, technical documentation, and cross functional collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications\nExperience designing complex compute, server, client, validation, FPGA based, or semiconductor development platforms.\nExperience with high speed I/O and memory interfaces such as PCIe, DDR/LPDDR, USB, Ethernet, or comparable technologies.\nWorking knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, transmission line theory, impedance control, crosstalk, PCB stack-up, and power distribution networks.\nExperience with SI/PI, circuit, or power simulation tools.\nExperience with board-level power delivery, basic Verilog coding, power budgeting, voltage regulation, sequencing, and power integrity.\nKnowledge of PCB fabrication, board assembly, DFM/DFT, manufacturing flows, and component/BOM management.\nExperience taking hardware through multiple stages of the lifecycle from design through PCB implementation, fabrication, assembly, bring-up, validation, and deployment.\nWorking experience in integrating the AI-based tools and agents in regular workflow\nFamiliarity with scripting or automation, such as Python, for hardware development, validation, or debug is an added advantage.\nExperience working effectively with geographically distributed engineering teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.\nJob Type:\nExperienced HireShift:\nShift 1 (India)Primary Location:\nIndia, BangaloreAdditional Locations:\nPosting Statement:\nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, religious creed, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, military and veteran status, marital status, pregnancy, gender, gender expression, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by local law, regulation, or ordinance.Position of Trust\nN/AWork Model for this Role\nThis role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. * Job posting details (such as work model, location or time type) are subject to change.*\nADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Intel is committed to Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) compliance and ethical hiring practices.
