You will independently own research and design for one or more product areas, partnering with product managers, developers, and end users to turn complex clinical needs and business goals into intuitive, high-quality experiences, from early discovery through to successful release. You will bring a balanced skillset, grounding design decisions in rigorous user research, translating insight into compelling, usable interfaces, and helping raise the quality of UX practice across the team.\nKey Responsibilities\nResearch\nIndependently plan and lead qualitative and quantitative UX research across the product lifecycle, using field studies, direct observation, interviews, workflow and task analysis, usability testing, and surveys to identify opportunities, validate assumptions, and shape product direction.\n\nSet research priorities and methodologies for your product area in partnership with product management; recruit participants and moderate sessions with clinicians and other end users.\n\nSynthesize research data into personas, journey maps, and actionable insights, and translate findings into design and product recommendations that influence roadmap decisions.\n\nOwn and evolve our research repository so findings stay discoverable and continue to inform current and future work.\n\nDesign\nLead the design of intuitive interfaces from concept to release, grounded in a strong understanding of user goals, clinical workflows, and product requirements, delivering screen layouts, interaction patterns, and UI elements that meet usability and business standards.\n\nOwn design work end-to-end: produce wireframes, storyboards, functional prototypes, and detailed specifications that clearly communicate intent to developers, QA, and technical writers.\n\nDrive the creation and adoption of design standards that ensure consistency across the product suite, and guide developers through UI design decisions and trade-offs during implementation.\n\nCommunication & Collaboration\nBuild trust with users through deep empathy, active listening, and strong facilitation, enabling a thorough understanding of their goals, workflows, and challenges.\n\nPresent design and research findings clearly to audiences ranging from engineers to product leadership, and lead design and research critique sessions to ensure alignment and quality.\n\nMentor and provide feedback to less experienced designers and researchers, sharing methods and best practices across the team.\n\nQualifications & Experience\nBachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience (UX) Design, Interaction Design, Human Factors / Ergonomics, Psychology, Graphic Design, or equivalent experience.\n\n4+ years of experience in UI/UX design and UX research, with a portfolio demonstrating both strong web and mobile design capabilities and end-to-end research work.\n\nProficiency in industry-standard design tools, including Figma and/or Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, or equivalent).\n\nDemonstrated expertise in wireframing, prototyping, and producing design specifications.\n\nDemonstrated experience independently planning and leading user research using qualitative and quantitative methods, and synthesizing findings into personas, journey maps, and actionable insights.\n\nFamiliarity with UX research tools and repositories (e.g., Dovetail, UserZoom, Optimal Workshop, or similar).\n\nStrong knowledge of HCI principles and design best practices.\n\nProven ability to communicate design rationale and research findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.\n\nExcellent spoken and written English, or equivalent.\n\nPreferred Qualifications & Special Requirements\nExperience prototyping with HTML and CSS or similar front-end tools.\n\nExperience in healthcare IT or complex enterprise software; experience conducting research with clinical or healthcare users.\n\nFamiliarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.\n\nFamiliarity with survey design and basic statistical analysis.\n\nExperience working in Agile development environments.\n\nExperience mentoring or informally guiding other designers or researchers.\n\nNo direct supervisory responsibilities.\n\nTravel Requirements\nNone\n\nThis job description is not a comprehensive list of tasks or requirements and Intelerad reserves the right to change it at any time.\n The base pay for this position ranges from $64,500 to $86,000/yr within any geographic market in the US. Pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Intelerad is a total compensation company. Pay is dependent on the position offered.
