The focus is on creating AI-ready data platforms that allow agents to securely discover, understand and reason over enterprise data.\nThis is an opportunity to work at the intersection of Data Engineering, AI, RAG systems and enterprise-scale information management.\nYour Role\nWe are looking for an experienced Principal AI/RAG Engineer who combines strong Python engineering skills with hands-on expertise in LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and modern data platforms.\nYou will design and build the catalog, semantic, metadata and analytical layers that transform complex on-premise data estates into AI-accessible systems. You'll play a key role in improving retrieval quality, building evaluation frameworks, developing extraction pipelines and enabling trusted AI-powered experiences.\nResponsibilities\nDesign and develop production-grade AI and RAG solutions.\n\nBuild and maintain evaluation frameworks, automated test suites and quality gates for AI systems.\n\nEnhance retrieval pipelines using hybrid search, reranking and metadata-driven filtering.\n\nDevelop document intelligence solutions, including structure-aware parsing, chunking and information extraction.\n\nBuild metadata and entity extraction pipelines with confidence scoring and human review workflows.\n\nDesign synchronization mechanisms for enterprise content platforms.\n\nDevelop document lineage, temporal views and document relationship models.\n\nContribute to knowledge graph and query orchestration capabilities.\n\nCreate monitoring, observability and quality dashboards for AI services.\n\nEnsure provenance, traceability and governance across all generated answers and extracted information.\n\nCollaborate directly with client stakeholders in a regulated financial environment.\n\nRequirements\nMust Have\n6+ years of commercial Python development experience.\n\n2+ years of hands-on experience building production LLM and RAG systems.\n\nStrong understanding of:\nRetrieval pipelines\n\nVector databases\n\nStructured information extraction\n\nAI operational tooling\n\nExperience with evaluation frameworks such as:\nLangfuse\n\nRAGAS\n\nDeepEval\n\nor similar solutions\n\nStrong expertise in hybrid retrieval techniques:\nKeyword search\n\nSemantic search\n\nCross-encoder reranking\n\nRetrieval optimization\n\nExperience with document processing and extraction pipelines.\n\nKnowledge of OCR-based document processing.\n\nPractical experience working with AI agents and agentic workflows.\n\nAdvanced PostgreSQL knowledge, including:\nRelational data modeling\n\nJSONB\n\nSchema migrations\n\nData transformations\n\nStrong understanding of data governance, provenance and traceability.\n\nExcellent communication skills in English.\n\nNice to Have\nSharePoint and Microsoft Graph API integrations.\n\nKnowledge graph technologies such as Neo4j or Apache AGE.\n\nExperience building permission-aware retrieval systems.\n\nExperience with MCP tools, AI agents or AI coding assistants.\n\nLegal, contract management or document intelligence domain knowledge.\n\nFinancial services experience.\n\nExperience working in regulated enterprise environments.\n\nBitemporal data
