We are seeking a Quality Inspector to perform in-process, final, and source inspections on electro-mechanical assemblies, printed circuit board assemblies, and finished products to verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards. Prior inspection experience in an aerospace, defense, or electronics manufacturing environment is desired. IPC certification (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, or J-STD-001) is preferred but not required to apply.
Location: Torrance, CA
Responsibilities:
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of electro-mechanical and electronic assemblies against drawings, work instructions, and applicable specifications.
- Inspect printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and cable/wire harness assemblies for workmanship compliance to IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
- Verify dimensional conformance of machined components (machined, molded, 3D printed, etc.) using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and other standard inspection tools.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and GD&T callouts to determine acceptance criteria.
- Document inspection results and identify and record nonconformances (NCRs) per the Quality Management System.
- Support First Article Inspections (FAIRs) per AS9102 requirements.
- Participate in root cause and corrective action activities for identified nonconformances.
- Maintain calibration awareness and proper use/handling of inspection, measuring, and test equipment.
- Support material review board (MRB) activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate, organized inspection records and stamps/certifications in accordance with AS9100 QMS requirements.
- Communicate quality issues promptly to manufacturing, engineering, and quality engineering personnel.
- Support internal and customer quality audits as needed.
- This position requires access to US Export Controlled Information.
