This role ensures a safe working environment for all employees by proactively identifying risks, developing and updating programs, training employees, and enforcing company policies. The Safety Manager will collaborate with department heads to integrate safety practices into daily operations while driving a culture of safety excellence. This position will report to the Director of Manufacturing. \n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field (or equivalent experience). \nCertification in safety-related programs (CSP, OSHA 30/OSHA 50 classes, etc.), including CPR and first aid.\nMinimum of at least 5 years of safety management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food packaging. \nProven ability to conduct investigations, analyze data, and implement corrective actions.\nStrong leadership, communication, and training skills to engage employees at all levels. \nThe ability to create safety and compliance policies and programs.\nExperience in emergency response plans to ensure employee safety in the event of a disaster.\nEnsure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.\nCapable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.\nMust be Bi-lingual English and Spanish.\n\nJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:\nCompliance:\nEnsure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.\nMaintain and update safety policies, procedures, and documentation to meet regulatory and company requirements.\nWorkplace Safety & Risk Management:\nConduct risk assessments of the equipment, environment, and processes in working areas to achieve zero incidents.\nManage all necessary reporting related to workplace injuries and near-misses including compliance documentation, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.\nConduct safety inspections of the plant and equipment ensuring corrective actions are implemented.\nTraining & Employee Engagement:\nDevelop and conduct regular safety training programs for all employees, ensuring compliance with food safety and manufacturing safety standards. \nRaise the level of hazard awareness and lower the risk tolerance across the plant. \nManage safety meetings and provide ongoing safety communication to all employees.\nContinuous Improvement & Leadership:\nCollaborate with the production, maintenance, and quality teams to integrate safety best practices into daily operations. \nServe as the primary point of contact for all safety related matters, fostering a proactive and compliant safety culture.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:\nMust adhere to all safety regulations, including the use of PPE. \nFast-paced production floor with exposure to machinery noise and variable temperatures. \nAbility to respond to safety incidents promptly, including off-hour emergencies when necessary.\nAbility to work independently, travel as required (75% of time), and support multiple sites.\n\nTRAINING:\nMust complete ongoing training as required.\n\nPHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:\nThis position is a hands-on approach requiring extended periods of walking and standing.\nOccasional lifting of up to 25
