We are a collaborative team where everyone stays connected to each other’s work. As a Product Design Intern, you will work closely with our design and research leads to help develop, evaluate, and refine the next generation of Interac products. Alongside design responsibilities, you will also support our UX Research team across key research activities.\nWhat You Will Do:\nSupport Product Designers with daily design tasks, including prototyping, iteration refinement, and design critiques.\nCreate prototypes for presentations, user testing, and broader product development needs.\nTake ownership of design work and confidently present to stakeholders across teams.\nContribute to design initiatives for e-Transfer \nReview and refine designs to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.\nExecute design solutions in Figma, apply design thinking, contribute to design systems, and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners\nWhat You Bring:\nCurrently completing an undergraduate degree/certificate from a creditable Canadian institution with a focus on Interaction Design, Design, UX/UI, or similar field \nA strong portfolio that you can confidently demonstrate what you’ve directly contributed to while also highlighting the wide-range of your talents and capabilities. In your portfolio, we would like to see: \nVisual Design: High proficiency with Figma as you will create visually appealing, best-in-class, and engaging user interfaces and designs on an ongoing basis \nUnderstanding and familiarity with tools like Figjam & Jira - You have experience taking business and stakeholder needs/requirements and translating them into of design executions in Figma \nStrong UI skills with the ability to create low to high fidelity to pixel-perfect designs based on best possible UX for various potential stakeholder - you have a clear passion for, and understand, current UX and UI design best practices \nA passion for both mobile and desktop experiences with responsive web design to mobile application and beyond \nDesign Thinking: Ability to understand and empathize with user/stakeholder needs, ideate and prototype solutions, communicate the rationale behind your design decisions, and being open to iterating based on useful feedback \nConfidence in your ability to communicate verbally in a detailed and impactful way - you have some experience presenting design concepts and solutions \nProven time management and organization skills. You are able to prioritize and manage your time effectively to meet deadlines \nUnderstanding that success is in the details - you tend to notice things that others don't \nAlthough not required, you have some familiarity or previous experience with the following:\nUnderstanding of accessibility guidelines and best practices \nFigma Make and other AI tools for designing \nMotion graphics and microanimations \nExperience working directly with both internal and external developers, project managers, and product owners \nExperience with UX Research, User Testing and A/B Testing is a plus\nExperience working in Agile teams is a plus\nWhat We’re Offering:\nThe hourly pay rate for this position is $25, and the internship term runs from January to April 2027.
