Reporting directly to the Department Manager, the Department Supervisor is responsible for managing workflow, ensuring quality and throughput objectives are met, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and positive work environment.\nThis role involves leading a team of employees by setting clear expectations, providing hands-on training, and evaluating performance. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and committed to upholding safety standards, promoting productivity, and fostering a culture of inclusion.\nKey responsibilities include assigning tasks to meet production goals, reporting daily outputs, monitoring equipment for issues, managing inventory levels for department supplies, and enforcing company policies. Department Supervisors will work closely with the Department Manager to identify areas for improvement and support continuous operational growth.\nThis is a great opportunity for individuals with strong leadership skills who thrive in fast-paced, hands-on environments and are passionate about team development and operational excellence.\n Responsibilities:\nResponsible for operation of assigned department. \nManage workflow of multiple processes and assign responsibilities to achieve department throughput and quality objectives. \nGuide, direct, train, communicate expectations, and evaluate performance of department employees. \nMaintain a clean and safe working environment. \nEnsure safe and efficient use of equipment. \nCreate a positive work environment and culture focusing on safety, productivity, and inclusion. \nReport daily department production and coordinate with Department Manager to create schedules. \nIdentify and suggest opportunities for department improvement. \nEnforce Company policies and procedures. Discipline employees as appropriate. \nReport department production supply inventory levels, such as packaging, pallets, etc. \nOther duties as assigned by Department Manager. \nSkills:\nAbility to read, understand, and speak English. \nStrong organizational and leadership skills \nEffective communication and interpersonal skills \nSelf-motivated and eager to learn. \nMath skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages. \nAbility to recognize and solve problems. \nBasic computer skills. \nProficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel a plus. \nAbility to read, understand, and speak Spanish is a plus. \nQualifications\nHigh School diploma or GED. \nMinimum 3 years’ experience in a scrap metal, manufacturing, or warehousing environment. \nMinimum 2 years’ experience working in a supervisory, lead, or similar position. \nExperience in non-ferrous scrap metal industry related to grading and alloy identification preferred \nExperience with Lean Manufacturing concepts is a plus. \nAbility to talk and hear \nVisual abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. \nAbility to frequently stand, walk, reach, use hands and fingers. \nAbility to occasionally sit, kneel, stoop, and climb. \nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally. \n Compensation:\n$60,000-$70,000 Salary Annually\n100% Company-paid Medical, Dental, Vision \n100% Company-paid Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability \nCompany paid $25K life insurance policy \nAccelerated paid Vacation time \n401(k) with generous company match after one year \nAnnual performance review and bonus \nAs a matter of company policy, Interco does not sponsor employment visas or hire from out of the USA nor does the company sponsor candidates who do not currently reside within the USA without an existing H-1B visa.\nThis job description is designed to provide a general overview of the requirements of the job and does not entail a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties or responsibilities that will be required.
